Thanks for that PQ. It answered my questions.
I cried

I presume this will put a lot of farmers out of business then. That's awful.
And I can't help feeling for those poor cattle too
-
Son-in-law wants to come too so I'm now total of 3
-
Are there any predictions for how long the drought will last? And is there no government assistance at all?
I expect this will also hike beef prices although that is the least of the concerns here
-
That's awful. Quite upsetting
-
M&S will send clothes delivery free (including sale clothes) for most of the year. They only ever stop for a month or two every now and then so keep checking
-
I'm also a possible along with daughter
-
Happy either way
-
Here, I'll have you know that I always act with the utmost decorum :angel_happy_face_ha
OK, there was the unfortunate "follow the moon home" incident, the "kissing Stuart" incident (luckily Mr MtT thought that was funny! No tongues involved though), the "sex on the beach" incident, the "drag queen at the ball" incident...(there are probably other incidents that I've forgotten about completely thank God!)
But apart from them, it's all good!!!!!
Oh dear. I'm never going to fit in. I'm such a good old girl......errr:ssign9:

I think Kate did request to limit drinks to a couple each/ I would be happy to contribute, as I'm sure would most others.
I was not expecting any free drinks. 2 free is a real perk.

Put me down for a tentative yes. I'll just have arrived in Perth but daughter and son-in-law (where I'll be staying) are looking to move to a bigger place so I'll stay tentative for the moment just in case. Whatever happens I'll be there for Stacey's welcome party and the first customer at Tony and MtT's curry house.
Daughter and son-in-law may wish to come too. Daughter is PIO member too but not posted for a while. I'll ask next time we skype.

That's wonderful. I bet you are very relieved. Congratulations

Lead Aspro normally fixes the mongrels.
By "mongrels" do you mean the owners?
-
It wasn't you on the news was it Stormy??
I would contact the Ranger..sure you already have....
You may recall our greyhound was attacked and nearly died 5 months ago, she was on-lead and an unrestrained dog ran from a house and attacked her
The owner was remorseful, voluntarily euthanised the dog
If they had not..the penalty would have been conviction for a dangerous dog...they would have had to put signage up and muzzle the dog (would have been declared dangerous)
As it was they were fined $500 for unlicenced dog and dog attack
My thoughts are with you...I can fully empathise. Hope your pup recovers very soon
edited to add...police didnt want to know in our case either..only intervene in case of human attack
My god. I didn't know about this either. How many of these attacks are going on? And how is your dog now?
-
My god. Just 50$. Why bother? That's ridiculous
Are you better now? And how is your poor wee dog?
That's truly awful
Edited to answer your question. Put the owner in a pit with lots of wild dogs.

Well your family being here may be the deciding factor. But a holiday is hardly an insight into longer term desirability.
True. But I have lived many different towns and countries and every single one has become "home". I seem to be lucky in that I've never suffered from home-sickness possibly for the reason I've just stated. And it's not because I have cut ties with the people and places I have lived. I keep in touch and sometimes visit. Granted that will happen rarely in future but many of my friends have plans to visit so I will still be in touch. I think I will be just fine.

My daughter and son-in-law live in Perth. Any isolation seems to have passed them by. They have lived there less than 2 years and so far have had a long weekend in Melbourne, a week in the Kimberley region, a week spent between the Margaret river area and further South, 2 weeks in Indonesia and they are off for a week to Sydney next month. For next year they have trips planned for Brisbane, Cairns and Bali. I don't think they are suffering from isolation even in the slightest.

If you can find happiness wherever you are why bother with the turmoil of leaving in the first place? Adventure can be had in any number of places for a fraction the cost and double the experience.
Because my family are in Australia and I want to be with them.
Because I love life there and feel so much more relaxed
Because I've already made friends there even though I've only been for long holidays so far
Because I feel at peace there and can see myself living there comfortably to the end of my days
Because simply I love it

Sorry. I could go on for ever. So many songs. Not enough time to capture them all on here

Layla, Derek and the Dominoes.
Comfortably Numb (pulse) Pink Floyd.
Wind Of Change (with Berlin Philharmonic, moment of glory) Scorpions.
Kayleigh Marillion.
Jigsaw Marillion.
Five is not enough I can think of at least a hundred.
Loved layla by Derek and the Dominoes. hardly anyone seems to remember the song

The ability to fit in and adapt
The ability to appreciate the good things and take the bad with a pinch of salt
To be honest, it's the ability to find happiness wherever you are

Try Heirisson island for the kangaroos and lovely views down the river.
Lindor mentioned the lucky Shag and it does wonderful fish and chips but get there early if you want a table outside (wonderful views again) as it's really popular
When shopping in town go down the little alleyways between the main streets. There are some lovely shops
Fremantle is a must. It's more laid back than Perth and has market stalls on certain days (can't remember when but someone else may be able to supply)
the walk along the river between Heirisson island and Bells tower which is beside the Lucky Shag is beautiful. Keep your eyes out for the lorikeets in the trees

Sorry but I could never live in a house that didn't have a sink beside the toilet. That's unhygienic. There is hardly any point to washing your hands if you've already touched everything. I can understand having a bath/shower and a basin separate from a toilet but surely not if there is no second sink beside the toilet. Ugh.
