  1. Hi, We're also planning to come along to this this afternoon. We are a family of three who moved to Knox four weeks ago and are keen to meet new people - look forward to seeing you there!
  2. We just moved to Melbourne. Got a friend's grandparents to view a long term rental and secured it from the UK before our move - the first house we applied for we didn't get but we are super happy with the one we got, so it is possible but a risk as we signed up for a year! The first week we stayed at Glenmore Homestyle accommodation in Forest Hill. We found it on airbnb. Would highly recommend Glenmore, which can sleep up to a family of 6 people and was a great place for us to explore Melbourne from and settle in
  3. Hi, sorry for the random question....I am looking at buying a brand new polo in Melbourne. They seem good value and cheaper new here than in the uk new/hold their value etc. However, my family are trying to put me off, saying it will cost me a lot to maintain here, for parts and servicing compared to Holdens etc. Would be great to know what others think.? Any thoughts would be much appreciated - thank you!
  4. We are moving to Melbourne in January and would also be interested in this
  5. I meant $20k, not $20! This is a rough estimate as I can't see many for sale online. Thank you again
  6. Hi, please could you let me know if my car is worth bringing from the UK to Melbourne? Mercedes C320 coupe 3.2litre petrol 2004 Automatic Has air con 70,000 miles Approx £4k in Uk Approx $20 in Australia Thank you!
  7. Yay!!! Congratulations!!! so glad it has been sorted after such a long wait - I cannot imagine how hard that wait must have been. Really happy for you
  8. I have been through this process and yes, I would advise you put together a statement in advance. As much detail as possible. Google Payne v Payne. This is the leading case law and has recommeundations on how a judge should make a decision. Cafcass are normally involved...good luck!
  9. Thanks Danielle The Case Officer asked me for a police check for when my partner lived abroad but as it was over 10 years ago it was not needed in the end...
  10. Also, I did not submit for 80 and was not asked too... x
  11. Hi Everyone, I have just joined the forum as I have been reading everyone's comments while I have been applying for my 189 visa and they have been super helpful thank you so thought I should do my bit and contribute by letting people know my timeline/good news: EOI: 02/03/14 (70 points) Submitted application: 10/03/14 First contact from CO: (requested document): 22/04/14 Granted visas for me and family: 29/04/14 Medicals took place at the end of March and police checks were uploaded around the end of March too...
