Hi All,
Over the past few months I've been preparing my cat for migration to Sydney from London, following the DAFF guidelines religiously.
Rabies injections are fine and I have my DAFF import permit, and have tentatively booked accommodation at Eastern Creek.
I am poised to now book flights through Qantas so I can apply for my DEFRA export permit and confirm the accommodation, but a Qantas Freight Services Coordinator there has just dropped the following bombshell:
"Qantas Freight UK/Ireland is only able to accept livestock bookings from livestock shipping companies, who are the recognised specialists in the international transportation of live animals."
So I was wondering, has anyone else gone it alone with their pet transport from the UK? If so, what airline did you use?
Or am I crazy and should use a pet transport company? Would they provide a discount if I'm already 3/4 of the way through the process?
Thanks for any advice.
