  1. "I can't wait to have a glass of wine & an Easter egg tomorrow when its all over! :)" - just a bit of humour to relieve the tension! "I'd have reached for the nearest red wine put my fingers in my ears and said lalalalala." - hahaha! thats spot on, thanks Que Sera, Sera! Since Xmas I have been really good & have lost over 3st - my BMI was much higher not very long ago! I was expecting a bit longer to shift the weight but we were invited within a week of submitting the EOI! So I will be rightly enjoying my Easter egg that I have saved for this evening! I will be taking along my Slimming World book as back up! Wish me luck.... x
  2. That's what I'm hoping for! Thanks so much for the reassurance. I kind of think it will all be fine, but I wont half be glad to see the back of this last hurdle! I will report back when I get my pass in a few weeks.....!
  3. I am so pleased to read this thread! I have my medical booked for tomorrow (30th April) at Manchester with Dr Smith, and with a BMI of around 45 I have been worried to death about failing! I have been monitoring my blood pressure at home & even bought a diabetic blood glucose monitor to check all will be ok! Thankfully everything has always been fine, but I know I wont sleep tonight! Its an awful lot of money & dreams riding on this move for us & our 3 children! I can't wait to have a glass of wine & an Easter egg tomorrow when its all over!
  4. Well, it is medical eve! Wish me luck for tomorrow...! My blood pressure will be through the roof with stress!
  5. Thanks for everyone's help! I guess I will get the police checks sent off, and then apply & wait to be asked to go for the medicals (any extra time to shed a few lbs I will take!) I really do appreciate the advice- its all pretty nerve racking! I hope to be in Perth in time for my kids to start school next Feb! Fingers crossed.....!
  6. Massive congratulations to you too! I hope it all goes smoothly for you! So have you had your medicals & everything passed & are now just waiting for a green light? That must be a huge relief - I hope to be there soon! Thank you so much for replying!! I was worried that I had to get it applied for, and then arrange the medicals & police check all in the 60 days! The costs are mounting up now, so I dont want to have to apply for new copies of GCSE & A-Levels if they are only going to ask me to confirm the highest qualification! And I dont want to pay for documents to be certified if I can just scan in the originals!
  7. Hi everyone, After many many years of trying (!) I have been invited to apply for the VISA!!! We couldn't be happier, but as we are doing it by ourselves without an agent I want to make sure we are doing it right! I cant seem to find out what I need to know on the immi/skillselect website, but now I have 60 days in which to apply what do I do first - arrange police checks, arrange medicals or apply for the VISA? From what I can gather I need to apply before I get a number to use before arranging medicals - is this right? And does the same go for police checks or can I arrange that now? If its the case that I need to apply first, and only then arrange medicals &/or police checks, then does all of this have to be done within the 60 days, or is it just the initial application?! Next - am I supposed to upload coloured scanned images of my original documents, or of certified copies? And do I need copies of my GCSE/A-Levels or just my degrees? Sorry to sound so clueless, I just really really cant mess this up!!! Thanks!!!
