  1. Hey Bromney, Thanks!! Nice point made there!!
  2. Thanks Xenon4017. Ya, u pointed out correctly that I should make a list of potential employers and then take things forward when onshore. Point taken!!!
  3. Hey PW1, u totally misunderstood. I may have asked more questions but my intention was just to get some help from somewhere. On my front, I m also trying hard to find jobs. I also have friends in OZ but all of them have told me to try hard to get job from the day u get PR as they said it takes a lot of time to search job after coming here, entire family including spouse, kids and parents also suffer. I may not get a job until I m in OZ, but atleast I want to give my 100% in job search. So don't tell me what to do. People who genuinely want to help provide suggestions.
  4. Thanks themod53 for your inputs. Ya I couldn't agree more on that..One needs to b onshore so that employers really start taking u seriously.
  5. Hi, I vl be migrating to OZ in June. I am applying for IT jobs online since few months. I am a software engineer with 10+ years experience in Linux. Do u know any IT recruiters in OZ? Becoz applying on job sites isnt taking me anywhere..Can u guide me on this???????
  6. WOW, another one beautifully written!! I can almost visualize those scenic landscapes, outback etc.( Although we too aren't beach lovers as such) Keep up the good work!!!
  7. After reading so much negative stuff in forum I was kind of scared and doubtful whether I did a right decision for choosing OZ over Canada for permanent migration. But when I read such wonderful articles posted by u all, I feel kind of relieved and confident. Everyone has to struggle and work hard in life to achieve their goals thats the eternal truth, but if you are in a developed country like OZ, you feel the struggle and effort is worth it!!!!! I know its gonna be tough initially but lets hope we will settle for good in OZ. As its a country full of life, energy, diversity and love for all cultures.
  8. Wow!!! Dats nicely written. Such nice and beautiful articles makes us confident dat we took a right decision to migrate to OZ..U guys ROCK...
  9. Thanks again. Yup, I think approaching the relevant companies directly sounds ok. Because just applying for jobs on job sites is really taking me nowhere. So,let's see.
  10. Hey thanks. That link is helpful.
  11. Hi guys, I m migrating to oz with my wife on a pr visa in december 2014. I am a Software engineer with 10 years experience with specialisation in Linux and networking. I applied for relevant jobs on Seek jobs, but I wanted to know as to how can I increase my chances of getting jobs beforehand. Can u guide me on that? Do hr people hire on that basis or they need to meet the person face to face? How can I make this work for me? Because I have been applying on the job sites since 3-4 months but no response yet. Hence wanted to know how can I make this job search better???
  12. Thanks, Pooja..I really appreciate your inputs. I checked the rents of 2BHK in Sydney they r sky high(as compared to Brisbane) But other than that even we feel Sydney has more +ses to LIVE in. Lets see. I am migrating wid my wife to OZ. She is already feeling nervous as initially to adjust and socialize might take time. Anyway, hows your experience so far in OZ??
  13. Thanks again. They say " Sydney has something for everybody"!!
  14. Hi, Anita. My wife vl accompany me in OZ and she vl also face the same issue of Indian Qualification recognition in OZ, I think she is starting to feel nervous. But I suggested her to look out for other jobs or hobbies (Not related to her field) So did u get adjusted to OZ yet?? what is your experience so far?
  15. Thanks for your valuable inputs. I have already sent a mail to the CO with the receipt of the PCC, but I haven't got any response from their side. So, I am trying very hard to get the PCC before my US trip. Lets hope CO will be considerate. Also, the passport office has strictly instructed that they wont issue PCC to anyone else in my absence. So, lets see..Wait & watch as of now. Anyway, thanks..
  16. Hi, anita. My wife is also having somewhat similar problem as yours. She is a Homeopathic practitioner in India but in OZ Indian qualification is not recognized unless u do Skills assessment or register in colleges which recognize Oversea qualifications. Our agent has told her the same.
  17. Hi, folks. I m uploading documents as suggested by the case officer. But my PCC is taking longer than anticipated. We need to submit the documents within 28 days. PCC process is very slow in here. Medicals are done and uploaded but still in our account its written "Requested" in front of Medicals. Also I will b going to US for business purpose for 1 month. SO there will be a delay to upload documents if I dont get PCC in time. I sent a mail to the case officer to inform about my situation, but no one replied. Just wanted to ask people who have lodged PR under 189 category whether anyone has similar delays in uploading the documents? Also will it take a toll on the processing time of my application??
  18. Ya, well I guess Brisbane does seem to be somewhat affordable in terms housing rents etc as compared to Sydney. Thanks again.
  19. Yup, I am Indian. Thanks, for info. I will surely subscribe the "telegraph".
  20. I am trying to upload documents of my partner, but I guess there is some problem with the online thing. The CO mailed that she didn't receive any of our documents. I guess I have to mail and upload again. Also my PCC is taking a lot of time than anticipated. Things are really very slow moving here. On top of that CO hasn't received the documents, we uploaded. The medicals have been uploaded by the Authorized Hospital staff, but in our account its still showing "Requested" in front of " Medicals". Its real test of ones patience. Is anyone in the same situation here???
  21. Hey thanks. Sydney housing rates r very high so I think Brisbane should be ok. U are right, Sydney has awesome beaches, but we both don't like beaches so I think dat shouldn't b a problem at all dat we might think of Brisbane. Thanks again.
  22. Hey, thanks for your valuable inputs. We have heard dat housing rents in Sydney are sky high. So Brisbane may be ok. Ya, I agree dat there a lot of attractions to see in Sydney, but we both don't really like beaches. So we might think of Brisbane. Thanks again.
