  1. Hi everyone, So we did it we took the plunge and moved from the Gold Coast to Melbourne the beginning of this month, i have to say I'm not missing the sun and beaches as much as i thought i would, i actually quite like what i have seen of Melbourne so far, however we are now looking to meet new people. Myself (Michele) and my partner (Josh) are both 25 and are living in Sandringham, we are looking to meet people who are keen to meet for a couple of drinks, go for meals and just generally explore the city. I know my partner would also like to meet someone who is interested in watersports, football, mountain biking and 4WD. So if your interested in meeting up feel free to get in touch, i sometimes forget to check on here for weeks at a time so feel free to add me on Facebook Michele Whirton. Look forward to hearing from you.
  2. Hi everyone, So was hoping to get some advice from others who may be going through the same thing or have been through it already. Currently living on the Gold Coast with my partner we love living here the lifestyle is what we moved to Australia for however recently work has been hard to get for my partner (Plumber) I'm okay i have a steady job. We feel like we have no option but too move as we cannot live on just my wage. We have been looking at Melbourne as we both liked it there when we visited, Sydney is a no go unfortunately i just did not like it when we was there. What are peoples opinions on living in Melbourne as i know it will be different living there to visiting. I really love the lifestyle of the Gold Coast and being only 10 minutes away from fantastic beaches and am afraid city living might not be for us. Any advice would be appreciated.
  3. Hi everyone, so i need some help am hoping to set up a online cosmetics business within the next few months however i cannot come up with a catchy and feminine name for it everything i have thought off is a bit dull or when researched there are already companies somewhere in the world with that name. So i thought maybe you guys can help :cute: Look forward to hearing some your suggestions.
  4. Christmas here is santa hats on the beach, BBQ and seafood instead of the traditional christmas dinner oh and alot of sweating by all!
  5. Hi Peasy, I was in the same situation as you 2 years ago, i had to choose wether to move here without ever visiting or to stay in the UK i would say GO FOR IT! its not easy moving somewhere you've never been before but at the same time if you come on a holiday its still going to be different when you move here. My partner came here for 6 months before coming back to the UK as soon as he got back he started applying for his visa as he loved the place so much but since moving here and doing your everyday life things like work, grocery shopping etc.. he has said it is a totally different feeling, still he wouldn't change it as we are so lucky to have the chance to make a life out here. I came out here on a WHV then applied for my visa onshore that way i didn't waste as much money on a visa if i decided it wasn't for me. Its a once in a life time opportunity that not many people will get so have fun and just go with the flow after all its just a flight.. expensive one i know but still just a flight and your home again! Sorry for the rambling message hope this helps a little.
