Hi all :smile: I'm based in the UK at present and planning a move to Oz later this year. My husband works in the Engineering sector and his skills are on the Skilled Occupation List so we're applying for independent Permanent residency visas. I have worked as an IT Recruiter in the UK for the whole of my career. Work for my husband seems to be more prominent in WA so we are concentrating on the Perth area, but I'm not sure what the IT job market is like in WA? Does anyone know if there are many IT Recruiter jobs in WA and much work in the IT sector at all? I've looked on Seek and the majority of IT recruiter roles appear to be in Sydney and although I don't necessarily need to remain in the IT field because if you are good at recruitment you can apply your skills to any sector it would be useful to know what this market is like? Hi Cal Many thanks for your message, greatly appreciated! Basically we've been going around in circles for a few weeks now trying to find the right Skill section to apply for. My husband is a pipe fitter and welder by trade and we thought the pipe fitting part would have come under plumbing but we've since learnt it will come under Metal Fabricator and Boilermaker in Australian terms. Just need to get the endless amount of documents together now! Thanks again, Marie

Hi all, We're in the process of applying for visa's and my husband is a Pipefitter. The job description category he falls into on Vetassess is 'Air Conditioning & Mechanical Services Plumber' but he only has a Level 2 certificate. My question is does anyone know if Level 2 is acceptable for this category if he can prove post employment experience? He has at least 5 years evidence. Has anyone else got a similar background and got their invitation? - please tell me yes :wink: Also if anyone has managed to obtain a visa did you use an agent and if so anyone you could recommend? Our other option would be for him to state 'Plumber General' as job title perhaps? Would really appreciate your help. Marie & Kev
