Hey Hun yeah been reading up on it all! It's all massively changing!! We're sticking to the 190 NSW and then when andrew gets those extra 10 points in June it will be a 189 application! Good news today we had his CPA back and got 10 years experience verified and his qualifications etc! Eek! So we're all ready just need that flipping invite ? What a nightmare! I'm feeling very negative ?

Quite scary how things can change so quickly. :(

    Hi every one

I submited my visa aplication about 2 mounths ago and attached all the needed file. Today I received an email from CO. CO requested to clarify my purpose of journey to australia, or provide details of intended employment or intended study.

please help me. I dont know what should I write. In the form 80 I writed that my purpose is living, working and educating.

and know i dont know how to explain it and how to apload it in the immiacount. Is there any especific form or section to apload this information

    Pleas help me.:/

Oh wow, didn't think they could ask this. I just wrote on my form to live permanently. O.o hmm. How about writing a letter explaining what you love about Australia, why you chose to move there, what makes it so special and his you will adjust to the lifestyle over there. Just write some real soppy stuff! I'm waiting since 21/02 too, I am so impatient though everyday I think 'maybe today'! :(

Hi everyone, qualified sparky currently working through the process towards either 189, 190, 489 or spouse visa for Northern Territory. Got my skills assessment in the morning at the down under centre in London and IELTS on the weekend. I've been in Australia the last 2 years WHV and for the best part of 1 1/2 of them i was working for electrical companies in the NT doing the majority of the work and alongside A grade sparks. Question is because i wasn't qualified there, can i use it towards skillselect points as inside australia experience? Thanks

Unfortunately only experience after the qualification was obtained is considered skilled. Be careful what you claim for as it can end up in refusal. Good luck at DU Centre :)

As Westly posted, the 3-year ban does not apply to PR visa applications or applications that lead to PR (e.g. 300 visas).

Actually can't believe that they would not consider this and give you PR even though you might be banned for overstaying or something. I find that very odd.

For what it is worth, the 3-year ban does not apply to applications for permanent residence, or application leading to PR; for example prospective marriage applications.

How do you mean? I am not banned :) but intrigued to know. If someone was banned for 3years is this not applicable if they apply for PR?

What are your points and occupation? Which processing centre is dealing with your application? I only ask because your dates are really similar to mine in terms of being asked for more info and uploading your medical etc. I have 65 points and under the Brisbane office. I uploaded final docs on 3/3 and got my grant on 20/3.

It's a tricky predicament you're in. I don't know what advice to give, sounds like you are looking at the right kind of things by requesting rolling contact etc.

I'll keep everything crossed for you!

    Hi Klr81,

Thanks for your reply. My occupation is Childcare Centre Manager and I have 65 points. Office dealing with my application is Adelaide. My partner and I lived in Australia in 2009/2010 on WHV and we had the second year too for doing farm work so I suspect they are chasing this up too. I guess we just have to sit patiently and hope for the best. I really wish they had a clear system in place, e.g. have a numbered system of your visa process 'stage one checks completed, stage two checks completed, waiting on information' etc so you know where you stand. I am still awaiting landlord to get back to us re rolling contract so I am really hoping this is an option. I don't want to be stupid and hand in notice without anything to fall back on especially after working for them for 4 years :( Congrats on your grant you must be delighted. When and where are you headed?

  7. Ooh that's a tricky one. Surely though the employer knows the wait time for a 187- lots of employers wait as they know the process. To be fair, I'd probably go down the 190 route if it were me. I had a couple of companies interested in 457/187 for me but I thought you know what why don't I just try for the 189. Just out of interest which states are you considering for 190? Where is the job offer for 187?

  8. How many of you have handed your notice into work before being granted the PR visa?? My employer has been very understanding & knows since I started the application last September. However, I have a three month notice period which I have to give formally. My lease is up on our flat on the 16th July so we don't want to fork out more agency fees, deposit and have another contract for at least 6 months- if we have the visa by then!! Plus we live in london and in my past experience we've not been able to get a rolling contact to follow fixed term. I was planning on finishing work at the end of June first week of July. So by next week I should hand my notice in, I'm just worried that if I don't have the visa by then, I'll have shot myself in the foot with no job. Am I being too cautious?? I lodged 189 app on the 21/02 and had req for further info on 08/03 (PTE & Form80). ? Ideally if I got a rolling contract is wait until the visa comes to hand notice to work but it's so tricky to get that here. We've asked the agent so let's see. I'd be interested to know what others have done in this situation??

    TIA ;)

  9. I didn't use an agent so was working on what I had read and worked out online. I am going on an ANSZCO that they need lots of and don't seem to have had many applications for and I uploaded as much evidence as I could related to what they asked for. Degree cert. professional registration, work references, cv, my skills assessment that confirmed my work experience. I don't have a complicated work history and I am going alone so it was probably a relatively simple application. I agree about the travel movements on form 80 though. In 10 years I've been to 23 countries on 48 separate trips. took me ages to work it all out, but did it before I even lodged my EOI so I was prepared when I was invited. I still have no idea why my grant was so quick though.

Yeah I agree I think they have some format to it but in general depends if your case is straight forward and I think of it as the luck of the draw! I just hope mine comes in before the end of March. :jiggy:I want to land down at the beginning of July!

  10. yes I know what you mean no more paper work or evidence hunting. The good this is you will get the email during the night so there is no need to keep checking emails. You will just wake up one morning and it will be in your inbox the bad thing is it makes you late for work because you spend the first hour in shock or jumping up and down. Ha yours shouldn't be long I am sure.

No, I won't I have an agent so it will go to her first and then I guess she will call/email me. For example, I only found out at 14:00 on Wednesday I had a CO. So there is a bit of a delay. I'm hoping to hear something by end of March. I am just so nervous. You know you give up so much of your time and money and you don't know if it will all go through fine. Eeek:huh:

  11. It's the same for all immigrants - come, fit in, don't tell us how much better life is back where you came from, speak English and don't hang around with those of your own cultural group and all will be well. If you want to be Aussie, be Aussie, don't be Chinese first. Most Aussies couldn't give a toss about what colour you are, they're more concerned about what you do but they have a sense of humour which may well not be your sense of humour and you might take offence at something which is actually designed to be matey. If you don't feel comfortable then, of course, nobody is forcing you to stay.

I agree. To fit in you must get amongst it. Aussie's don't hate Asian people, and there are plenty of Asian and other cultures in Australia. In general people dislike others who don't make an effort to acclimatize to their new life in that country. For example, some British dislike certain Eastern Europeans, as some stick to their own nationality and foods and tend not to mix with others.

waiting. When did you submit? We both did form 80 so we already uploaded those. Should hopefully go straight to grant. Fingers crossed anyway

On the 21/02 so only 2 weeks ago. I'm angry though as I wanted to front load form 80 & 1221 but my agent said 'no, don't worry we are rarely asked for 1221 and we don't want to volunteer unnecessary information on a form 80 unless they want it.' I thought well of course they'll want it, my partner and I had 3 police checks from Ireland, Aus & NZ of course they'll wanna know more about this. Anyways, looking on the bright side, I am glad to have heard from CO at least. It has taken every ounce of my energy to do the form 80- like what on earth, we've travelled the world and lived abroad so much it was a nightmare doing dates! Don't even get me started on my partners work history which he hadn't a proper clue about dates or addresses as he works in construction. :arghh: I am a little OCD I know all the dates, addresses, post codes etc of everything I needed. Lucky you Katherine, I was so hoping to be a 'lucky' one! It all depends on your ANSZCO code too though I think. Fingers crossed for you Barry that you get a direct grant in the next couple of days, I am addicted to tracker have you used it? It feels like my whole life is resolving around Australia atm!
