1. You don't judge people circumstances unless you've walked a mile in their shoes ! He may be a FIFO worker he may be depressed, before people start reading the riot act or saying tuff love ! Think a bit more ! He probably could afford or can afford that car at the time ! but hey ho he asked for advice ! ! I'll just let the wolves descend considering they've been on this site along time ! Have a good evening!

  2. It's all very well for you to feel sorry for him Shelly but he does need some helpful input to his problem - not Bungo - I mean the OP.

Well ill I don't see any practical advice just shooting someone down ! I think it's rude jockin tas !

  3. It's never too late for "spilt milk". How else does one avoid spilling any more if all you do is admit it's your fault and then go and do the same again? Admitting fault is not the same as realising what the fault may be. He may see the fault in any number of ways differing from how you or I seeing what is at fault. I guess that's why folk so often "throw it out there" for confirmation and/or different opinions on what is the fault. If they don't want other opinions, be they in a chastising fashion or not, then they shouldn't ask. What do you expect? A pat on the back saying, "there, there, there. It's gonna be alrright and it's easily sorted" ?

If you stick your head above the parapet, then you should expect some bullets to whizz by, and I for one, don't need anyone to tell me to "hold fire". If I was in a similar situation, I would expect the cold hard truth and nothing less. I might learn something about myself that way. It's called "tough love"

do you see what I mean about people on here .... Tough love ! Whatever !

  4. When you ask for advice on an open forum from a lot of people you're going to get very diverse answers. People won't necessarily being having a go or shooting someone down but making observations. When we ask what we should do, there's always a chance we won't like some of the answers.

I I understand that Ali ! But in his post it reads he 100percent regrets it and it's all his own doing ! Don't think he needs hear that's more than some earn because what has that got do with anyone else ! Also he doesn't want to hear he needs to become more financially literate ! Bit late for spilt milk ! I'd say :)

  5. $64k is more than any people earn in a year. You need to get a bit of perspective and become more financially literate or think about things more carefully. Cut your cloth to your means and pay the loan off asap.

Dont not think that's going help him do you ? Financially literate wtf ! Bank managers psychologists grammar police I've heard it all !

My my best advice to the op don't come on here for advice they just shoot u down ! And say how irresponsible Uve been or move back or u say ya missing home all of a sudden this was the wrong move u won't be happy anywhere ! ! follow your heart !

just needs the riot act reading to him now ! He will sleep wonderfully tonight !

  6. It's here ! ! People turn in to psychologists on here I think ! Or they think they know it all ! Nothing to do with what I'm like as a person but when I hear people bang on about u must not be a friendly person I think people need look in the sodied mirror !

  7. Ya carny get on if there's not much work around anyway ! people don't come here just to say I know I'll have a whinge today ! These people r old people no doubt probably retired saying how comfortable they r in oz also them that come a while ago hit the boom not the case now ! not so easy ! ! I wonder how many would tell people what they want to hear if they were worried about jobs or didn't have one ! It would be boot on the other foot !

  8. I am actually going to put a disclaimer after every post I make in future. ( This post is not in anyway pointed or geared to anyone in particular, any similarity to anyone's personal situation is in their head not mine ) This is getting frikin tedious.

That wasn't aimed at u niether I must of been typing as u posted ! So my apologies qss :)

  9. Well I wanted nice weather for starters ! Niaeve I may of been but hey we all human ! And also jobs yes research we did on the job front ! ! It's that things to a down turn as we arrived ! my oh has the skills they need here that is not my issue my issue is how it's been ! So when u spent thousands of dollars pig arsing around for a job when I know it was good in UK I'm thinking what the hell have I done wouldn't anybody ! He's earned a lot of money but we've not seen it for the cost of moving around just for a job ! ! Even the ozzies know if FEED isn't busy then it's going create a knock on effect ! My oh can work in Australia at skill level one has all the desired skills ! So what research didn't we do what is the problem tell me because I'm gob smacked this has happened ! You work so hard in UK get where u wanna be fancy a change nothing wrong with that ! And it's **** from the minute u arrive basically ! Although coming through it now but 3 sodding yrs of ploughing money in it to make it work ! I'm not the bank of pigging England :)

  10. A higher earner is still bringing home more overall, even after higher taxes. It is appropriate and fair that higher earners pay more because they can afford to. I consider it a social responsibility. The job stress is entirely dependent upon the role but the likelihood is that a higher earner has more responsibility and therefore earnings commensurate with experience and accountability. Not always the case though! !

and they deserve to ! Let's put it like this I would rather be listening to my iPod pushing trolleys than operating on someone's brain !

And nd before someone says yours needs operating on I've heard it all before lol

and nd do u think I liked my husband working till ten at nigh and weekends too and me doing the night shift in a petrol station then staying up all day to look after my kids ! I created my own reality why do u think my husband studied until 3 in a morning and up at six for work for the fun of it ! Nope for a better future ! Why do parents want their kids do well at school to have a better standard of a future ! If u choose a future which is government funded no point complaining about the **** pay although I agree it's **** because you chose it ! Life is about choices but understanding the consequences that might go with it ! U create ya own reality ! And before anyone says its not the case for some kids well my husband walked around with holes in his shoes I had my clothes from jumble sales our parents were skint and we were both bought up on a council estate ! My husband had nothing given to him nothing and doesn't want nothing ! But I still know why he did what he did to give his family a better future !

  11. The brain surgeon may not have more worry Shelly, depends on their personality and whether they are a worrier. The Tesco trolley pusher might be worried sick about how they are going to pay the mortgage, the child care etc. If I was earning over 180K I would expect to and be happy to be paying 45% tax. The 45% doesn't come in till you hit 180K, it's 37% from 80k to 180. It's a nice country we live in because of the social services, the council guys that come round and clean the parks and beaches up. It all needs paying for and the well paid can afford it.

i understand what ya saying Paul I really do , but why bother get qualified if that's the case ! For a better future why bother ! :)

  12. But why are people only be able to earn minimum wage , people who go get qualified for a job of their choice have put the hard yards in to Beable to have better working hours and pay like jacaranda said u r a creator of ya own reality ! Why should higher earners pay 45percent tax over 180k when they worked to get that job in the first place ! a brain surgeon will have a lot more worry about than a tesco trolley pusher ! Do u get me :)

  13. You can sign a form in the UK to say u don't want work over 46 hrs . So he must of needed the money to be doing 80 hrs a week ! ! When my kids were little my husband worked until ten o'clock at night , then I would go do a night shift when he can in then Saturday and Sunday he would work 7am until 12pm and he studied at same time , we never took a penny from the government ever ! Then when he was qualified he earned great money ! Then things dramatically changed for us ! ! Then u get people saying higher earners should pay more tax ! Why should they pay any more than me ! I was a creator of my own reality by not doing what I supposed to of done when younger lol ! Why should let's say a brain surgeon pay more tax than someone who pushes trolleys for tesco ! ! :)

  14. Hi Shelly

I think your friend ment 28cubic metres, which is a 20ft container. I have just spoken to Chess and without packaging I am looking at around 9000. I will be calling Pickfords in a bit. Thanks for the advice though

Haha it's probably me not her mistaken ! Your most welcome ;)

  15. Yeah some of them are cool! I didn't go to the training but apparently the guy was doing ones with leafs etc. I saw one of a cat with the foam lol. I don't think I'd be very good at them but would like to try! So at least I can put the cafe down since March and I've got other hospitality experience. Retail and housekeeping too

They taught me me how do a leaf lol , bit boring though hey ! ! I did go for a couple of interviews , one got the job due to more experience but she said she would ring me when they get busier in the summer , but I'm fine now I'm sorted ! And they like young ones unless you are a super experienced barista because of pay , you could try house keeping at the hotels and casino . And you could always clean , I worked for a real estate aswell my first year in here , they saw my vacate clean for a lady I did and they asked her who did ya vacate clean for you and I got jobs from them , only thing is with that you have to wait until they release the bond until you get paid , you do get it though . And plenty of homes to drop leaflets out too ! But that's car pending for you ! Think you'll be fine though :)

  16. I can use the barista coffee machine now which helps. I really want to learn how to latte art though, it looks cool!

I think I'll probably use helpx at one point

I I did me coffe art course Stacey and my barista course ! I loved it . I didn't do this but pretty cool anyway lol

  17. I don't think you're thick. Everything you've advised is spot on. :)
