Hi i was wondering if anyone can advise me? I am on a 457 Visa . i had an accident at work in July 2015 and injured my back and Hospitalised working in Construction and had to have an Operation. I have been told by 3 specialists since my operation that i will not be able to go back to my old job and have seen 3 neuro surgeons and have been given a disability impairment percentage of 13% by workcover. ive been on light duties for approx 5 months in the office now and haven't worked full time since July 2015 but now my Work cover payments have stopped. I am loosing 900 dollars a week as i am only doing 6 hrs now. Me my wife and daughter are moving back to UK in Dec, Due to my accident and not being able to stay here financially. My question is can i get any financial help with living costs till we leave and with flights. As will need to fly Business class (just me) as i cannot sit for long periods due to my injury and need to lay down. Any Help would be Greatly appreciated.

Hi was looking for a bit of advice me my wife and daughter are on a 457 under my sponsorship. Been here 2 years march 6th just gone. My daughter is 18 in dec, Do i need to get permanent residency application lodged before then even thou we still got 2 years to run on 457. Any advice appreciated thank you.

Hi im currently on a 457 visa in cairns. my boss has agreed to sponsor me for permanent residency. I have been her now for 1 year 7 months. As i understand i can apply for a Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme Visa (Subclass 187). However i had accident at work and had back surgery. and am currently on work cover have been for 5 months. i need to show when i apply at the 2 year mark that i have worked for my employer for 2 years. will my being on work cover affect this please see below requirements. any advice would be appeciated a detailed statement from the employer declaring that the requirement for the nominated person to have worked for at least two years has been satisfied (covering the employment period, paid leave taken, unpaid leave taken and overseas trips for training or work) evidence of tax assessment notices for the two-year period PAYG payment summaries for the period of employment pay slips extracts of leave records.

Hi I have a 457 visa going through at moment. Sponsors just paid his fees, I'm British citizen my wife and step daughter are on a uk settlement visa. had it and been in uk for 6 years. When we go to aus in January can I bring my wife and daughter back to uk for holiday to see family on her uk settlement visa, or would she loose it. I'm not sure what route to take. I'm thinking of getting there naturalisation in uk before we go to aus to make it easier if they both have uk passports. Sorry it's long winded. Any help much appreciated.

Thank you for advice everyone. Yeah your right it is risky regarding the work situation. My friend did say if the sprinkler work did drop off I could work in one of his repair shops. But as I understand on a 475 visa you can only work for your sponsor. Im currently renting in uk, so we see how things go. Ill find out his work commitments for next year.

Hi fifi69, Thanks for the advice, glad things worked out for u all. There. Not to sure how it will work as I have alot of references regarding sprinkler fitting, but in uk there is no actual qualification for it like in aus. Anyway we will see where the road takes us. :-) my best friend is out there and hes being alot of support.

Hi there I'm glenn from uk. Me my wife and daughter are hopefully on our way to aus. This is all very daunting for us. If been a sprinkler engineer for 13 years now in uk and have my own company. I have been lucky enough to find a sponsor in fire protection in cairns to get us over hopefully. Were just at the beginning stage at the moment. Any advise would be most welcome.
