I have a potential 457 sposorship offer and just as i think abou the visa process, i came up with a question. I studied in AU and had criminal record from fraud 10 years ago. No jail time, just fine. it was an one off incident and i am going to be honest with the immigration coz i do not want it to be discovered later on, its going to look ugly that way.
my question is: do i have to reveal this to my potential employer? I mean, they did not ask about police check or character reference or any sort. Will it affect my visa if i don't tell my employer about a conviction over 10 years ago? my assumption is that i'll be ok as long as i am honest with immigration up front.
thanks!!
