  1. No. But then it was specifically for VETASSESS. It was required to cover a period of self-employment. Although we will still have to submit it with the visa application as well.
  2. I typed ours up and got a notary public to witness the signature.
  3. I think I'm in the same boat as you. EOI submitted and hoping for an invitation today. Also hoping to go to perth. Medicals booked for Friday. Only problem is I'm freaking out so much I've made myself ill!!
  4. Hi CaptainC Thank you for the reassurance and congrats on the recent grant. I hope someone out there can share their experiences of a similar situation?? I'm such a worrier... I keep thinking what if this and what if that. I think it will be ok?
  5. Hi all, My husband and I have just recently submitted his EOI for a 189 visa with the hope of an invitation in the September round. I am now starting to worry about the medicals... I had active Tb (tuberculosis) 4 years ago. I was treated and made a full recovery, and my husband was treated for latent Tb as a precaution. I suspect my x-rays will show scarring, although as my husband never actually had active Tb, his x-ray should be normal. Whilst I don't think that this will be a problem passing the medical, I wondered if anyone had a similar experience? If so, how long does it prolong the visa process? What are the extra costs? I believe that an undertaking agreement is taken with Australia in which I would have to periodically report for x-ray to ensure the Tb has not re-activated. Does anyone have experience of this? Any information would be much appreciated. Thank you
  6. Thank you, but my occupation doesn't affect our visa application as we are applying based on my husband's skills so just wondering about my job opportunities
  7. I firmly believe that where there's a will there is a way! I obviously don't know your exact circumstances but it sounds like you need to invest some time in getting the right recognised skills and qualifications for something on the SOL. Out of interest why do you think Australia is right for you? I mean for me I went on a WHV in 2007 and I made my decision then that based on the space, and the lifestyle that was where I wanted to live. I am still working on it though!
  8. Thank you for your replies. It was taken off the SOL this year, not sure about the CSOL's though.
  9. Thank you benj1980, but I just wondered whether anyone had any experience looking for work in planning in Perth and/or the rest of australia...?
  10. Hi all, I currently work in development control in local government in the UK. Would anyone have any knowledge or experience of job prospects i.e salary, qualification requirements, demand etc. in development control/urban planning in Australia, particularly in Perth? P.S. We are applying for the 189 based on my husbands skills, not mine. Thank you in advance

    Vetassess

The process may be different for different occupations but this is what VETASSESS told us...Thank you for your email. You are required to post originally certified copies of your documentation/evidence to our office in Melbourne, Australia. There is no option to upload your documentation online. The application form is online, but you are to then print the application, sign it; then post all originally certified documents to us (including 2 passport photos, passport bio page ect). Kind regards, Amy Stephenson Administration Officer Skills Recognition Support Services The only differences if you have to post is getting your photos certified and obviously printing and postage.
  12. Hi Steve, Thanks for the info! It's such a relief to get the evidence sent off, but now my husband is starting to feel a bit nervous about the interview...he wants to know how in depth the questions are? Its good to know it will be in Kent (where we live), so that's handy. good luck with the outcome, I hope it works out well for you. Angela

Hi Dan Jade I was led to believe that we could apply online and upload our documents also but as it turns out you can only submit the application form online, you then have to print the application form, sign it, and post the whole lot to Aus. My husband is applying for auto electrician assessment so maybe this only applies to his trade or all trade occupations? I don't know. Angela
  14. Hi steve71 We sent our skills assessment off the other day. I just wondered if you had heard anything back yet on your application or had your interview yet?? Thanks Angela
  15. Thank you, that has reassured me a lot!
  16. Hi Steve71, Thank you so much for your reply. My husband is also a self-employed auto-electrician. We are still in the process of collecting all the masses of evidence. So far we have references from 3 of his clients and 2 suppliers. I'm not sure how much detail they will want in terms of accounts? Have you given them copies of all your transactions/ledgers (please say no!) with some copies of reciepts and invoices? I was planning on getting a reference from his accountant and attaching his annual P&Ls and balance sheets, along with his self-assessment summaries and NI contributions?? Could you give a bit more detail on what you have provided?? It sounds like there may not be a practical assessment but a skype interview instead. That would be great to know how you get on, thank you. Best of luck, Angela
  17. Hi Steve, Just wondering how you got on with you Vetassess application? Any information about auto electrician skills assessments are a bit thin on the ground!
