  5. Hi Jodie, I am also a dental nurse with the same qualification, it definelty depends where u will be going to live, I lived in Sydney for a few months and I had my pick of jobs, now I live 40 mins south of perth and it's a little more difficult but I also don't want to travel into the city and that's where most of the work is. Where are u looking to live? Carly :-)
  6. My partners trade is heavy metal fabricator. Let's hope it doesn't take much longer! Fingers crossed :-)

  8. Hi!! Is anyone waiting for a grant for SS QLD??
  9. Thank you for your Info Shelley, all these things help a lot and am looking forward to the move. I'd like to think it's a little easier securing a rental over there too, although I know the dogs will make it more of a prob, but surely it has to be easier than here :-)
  10. Hi Shelley, am not really that bothered about being that close to the beach, or right in the city for that matter. Where we live now we are very close to the beach but 40 mins south of the city. There are a few towns close to us here where we can go for a nice meal or drink. I have looked into a few suburbs that look quite nice, ormeau is one of them, but it's so hard when u don't know what sort of area it is and what's close to there. My friend lives in coomera waters where we will be staying when we first arrive. I also prefer newer builds but isn't a deal breaker. Carly :cute:
  11. Thanks Cal, he works as a pipefitter on oil and gas and will be working mostly on FIFO over there. I do have one friend over there who has said we can stay with her until we find a place of our own so we don't have to rush, but obviously don't want to overstay. just looking for a nice quiet ish suburb like we're in now but not to far away from everything for a nice evening out. Thanks again :-)
  12. Hi all, relatively new to this but we are waiting for our 190 for Queensland to grant and then beginning the move to Queensland from perth and am seeking advice from people already located there. We have lived here in perth for almost 2 years and have been on a 457 visa. My partner was laid off so done everything we could to lodge our 190 visa before we had to leave the country. We have decided to up and move to Queensland due to the amount of work for my partner and Queensland, so I've heard, is a beautiful place to live. I do love certain things about perth and I'm hoping I feel the same in Queensland. It is just my partner and our two dogs so the move should be quite simple, it's more location and things to do. I would like to be more in the middle of Brisbane and the Gold Coast but don't want to be paying over the odds on rent as we wish to buy once we have been settled in for a while. Just wondering if anyone on here can give me some advice on the areas or anything else for that matter! Much appreciated  Carly :-)
  13. Hi there!! My partner got the bad news yesterday that his 457 visa has been cancelled and we are going to have to go back to the UK for a year or so to get the permanent residency visa done. We have to make this a quick move but we do also have our 2 small pug dogs to get back too. I've never done it before as I brought my dogs over here. I wondered whether anyone knew the costs and what it involves in getting my two dogs back to England. Thanks xx
