Hello, Called immigration today , and they said a CO has been assigned , but cant see when CO was assigned , i caqlled last week to know the progress , CO was not assigned then , now that CO is assigned , hope everything happens faster , Please GOD help me

Hi debbio, Did he specify the reason ? its obvious becoz my friends who applied in feb/march/april got it in 1-1.5 months time , now even for CO its 2-2.5 months , then after that processing might take "god lord knows" but if we get the reason we can try to come to a rational conclusion

Ya , its very tough , but ranjith , have any idea 10 weeks is from when ? lodgement or CO assignment , since its assigned to a team , how long it might take for a CO and then PR ...whats ur guess ?

Hi, Called Immigration and they said i have been aloocated to adelaide team 4 but no CO , it will be picked depending on the occupation , in this case primary applicant is electrical engineer , we dont have a time frame but processing time is 12 months and avg time for this visa is 3-4 months depending on the case I dont have any idea of processing times for electrical engineer , i remember last year ceiling was around 2000 now its 1500 , so clearly the demand has come down and thus processing time will increase , but how much ? dont know My 457 also gets cancelled oct 2013 so , i have 30 days to find a employer or a PR or return back , problem is without PR or valid bridging visa i can't work , becoz getting sponsorship is tough ... Now let god help me if any one know abt processing times for electrical engineering applicant let me know Regards, Shiva

I called 131881 , they connected me to GSM line and one person picked the call and agreed that my application should have had a CO but unfortunately its not , so told me to mail gsm.documents@immi.gov.au , mailed them but got a reply its not for 189 visa Can you guys tell me what number to call for 189 visa ? Is there a contact number ?

Hi ranjith , thanks for the reply , my question , after CO assignment (if there is a need for a document) will we get the contact details of the CO , like his phone number ? Moreover is it 8 weeks or 7-10 weeks even for CO assignment Did you get your CO assigned ?

i see some ppl in some forums saying its 7-10 weeks for CO assignment ? have you heard of this anywhere ?

I know ppl who got co assigned in 1-2 weeks for 189 on march,april,may (till 2and week) , not sure why for ppl who applied post may 2asnd week has issues on CO allocation ? may be end of financial year ? any news or guesses ?

I applied on June 3rd and still waiting for CO , medicals and police verification complted and all the documents uploaded , it's still "in progress" , getting dreams of PR , not sure when it comes to reality please keep me posted , if some ppl had CO assigned

after 90 days i will NOT be on a bridging visa , as my BVA will be cancelled along with 457 , reason being bridging visa's are given only when existing visa expires (confusingly written as 'ceased') in the bridging visa grant A thats the issue

Scenario: ----------- I am currently on a 457 visa and applied for a 189 visa on june 3rd My job is redundant and i am finishing my work on july 31st,Moreover , i have 90 days from july 31st to get a new employer or get my PR meanwhile to stay in australia Now , i am getting calls from job consultancies and they need a PR or a valid Bridging visa with work rights to proceed with my application VISA ISSUES: My case officer is not assigned yet ,My BVA is not active as i have 457 active , i dont want to leave australia WHat options are there to speed up my application ? Options: 1.Verifying uploaded documents? i havent uploaded form 80 , so will do it today 2.Applying state sponsorshop at this stage and including in my aplication ? Options to let me stay here and need a bridging visa with work rights , so i can apply jobs without sponsorship? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.Valid bridging visa with work rights 2.get a student visa meanwhile 3.Get a sponsor some how ? if my visa makes me ineleigible for some jobs while they pop out , and i am due become bankrupt after 3 months (while searching for a sponsor) I loose everything That's my worry
