last month it was about 3 months behind schedule, I got my grant for student visa last July 23 and it was referred May 3. I guess it depends on what subclass you applied for. Student VISAs have intake dates that need to be considered, maybe that is the reason why I got my visa ahead of yours. I have heard of referred medicals getting cleared in 10 days, and that is under the student VISA. Just email DIAC every now and then(once or twice a week?) just to get their attention. Tell them how many weeks you have been waiting since it was referred. I hope you get your visa soon! All the best and God bless!

hey guys, just arrived in Darwin last 01 August, and I like every bit of Darwin! Wheather is fine for now. I always get static shock though, must be careful when the lightning storms come. LOL. People here are very friendly and polite. No traffic jams. Low crime rate. Generally it is clean with very little rubbish here and there, very negligible. Mitchell Street is bustling with activity. I hope you come here!

Razzu, you should ask for an extension from the Uni, and try to email DIAC to have your medicals processed urgently. I was supposed to be in Darwin before July 15(my intake) but we got stuck with the medicals. After 72 days(check my timeline in my sig), the CO received my wife's clearance. We, however are still waiting for the Decision. I don't want to sound pessimistic, you should be deferring for next sem if you cant have the visa 1 week before the last allowable arrival date to uni. When is your intake? You are welcome Shugah!

Hey Shugah, My wifes medicals were recieved last July 15. No grant yet though! I hope you get your medicals soon! 73 days 10 weeks (rounded down) 2 months, 12 days excluding the end date

Day 72 - Medical clearance of wife received by CO Day 73 - DIAC informed me that it was received by CO... Waiting This is what DIAC emailed me...does this imply im nearing the finish line?

How do I give points? I gave a reputation point but it did not ask me how much to give. LOL. Thanks for the tips too! I am into healthcare. Nursing to be specific. I have read that NT has soe really goodplans and they are going to subsidize housing for teachers and nurses in the future. hopefully everything will fall into place. Still No VISA grant though.

what about Darwin? It also has some of the most expensive accomodation prices in OZ

Still waiting for updates here mate. I have seen that some of the members here had an average of 12-16 weeks grant to referral lead time. If that's the case then I'll be getting my grant in August, which is too late as my classes hould already commence this month. LOL

my friend got her grant for SC573 yesterday. No problems with medicals. I on the other hand am still waiting.

Thanks for the tips Shugah! Im not planning to mingle with my fellow Filipinos alone when I get to Oz. Just making sure it was alright. Lets all pray for a positive outcome for our visas.

Hello Shugah! Yeah its getting stressful as my intake date approaches. Im from the Philippines btw. I applied for an SVP for a student visa, sadly though my wife's medicals were referred. She has diabetes. I hope its ok if i joined the forums even im not a POM.

Cool thread. Im planning to migrate to darwin but Im starting off with a student VISA. Did some research and I am afraid that my family might encounter a salt water croc. been reading some news about Darwin and its got mixed reviews, recently though Darwin was named as the easiest cities in Australia to find a job. Dont have the link but you can google it. http://www.darwin.nt.gov.au/ - this site is really good as it shows some developments in Darwin. http://www.dlp.nt.gov.au/ - this too is really good if you want to see what new structures are being built in the NT. I am from the Philippines and hopefully I make it to Darwin soon!

I had my medicals 16Apr2013. The process is the same when applying for a student visa. I underwent the same thing. The problem with my wife;s medical is they got referred or sent to the MOC for further assessment. Wow. thats about 16 weeks. i hope you are right. I wonder though why the range is so big. 26Mar-20June - thats about 3 months!?!?! LOL

hi piramida. im from the Philippines and I applied for a student visa subclass 573 but my wife's medicals got referred to the MOC. We had our medicals last April 16 with results uploaded on the Apr 27 and May 3. Referral of my wife's medicals was on May 3. My visa was supposed to be under the streamlined processing. i guess we just have to wait.

I am a student visa applicant. If my medicals got referred to the MOC and if I was granted after my intake date. Shold i reapply and pay the application fee again or should I just wait for the next semester?
