Hello all, we live in the Netherlands and are hoping to be able to apply for a 189 in September/October. We are waiting for the outcome of the Engineers skills assessment. Our migration bureau tells us that the actual lead-time at the DIAC after visa 189 EOI is approx. 2,5 months. Does this seems to optimistics? Can anyone share recent experiences with either 'industrial engineer' or 189 visa experiences? thank and cheers from Holland, Dutchie

Hello, thanks for replying. I have to get into the lingo: what is 'POI'? I figures out that Poms are Britisch: learning by the day here. . Have you done this test yourself? Also: would you know if the paraprofessional is good enough (it says so on the immi.gov site) or that it needs to be the 'professional' test. I am doing the IELTS again twice end of August. It is just a pain that you have to peak in every part at the same day. . I have gotten 9's and 8's in 3 different parts several times, just not the minimum of 4x8. thank you, best

it's time to update the NAATI English test discussion . . I need 4 x 8 points on the IELTS, but haven't succeeded sofa. Am close. Am considering taking the paraprofessional interpreter test. Only thing is you HAVE to do it in Australia. So would mean flying over for this. Anybody the latest info on this? I will do the Dutch-English. thanks, best, Dutchie

hello Fadi, i have the same question. I need 5 more points to get the 60mark. I looks that doing the paraprofessional Translator test is manageable and gives 5 points. Unfortunately the test only can be taken in Oz. Has anybody done this test? Does it need extensive preparation? any input is appreciated. . thanks, dutchie
