  1. wow, "tracked mail service," didn't know that... i applied from offshore, but asked AITSL to send the assessment result to my friend in NSW. the delivery time frame was about a week. my suggestion is that email them in the beginning of 11th week. usually they get back to you within one business day if your application has been accepted. if you feel confused with their reply and wish to get the answer asap, call them. that was exactly what i did last time. good luck!
  2. Yes. It took AITSL about 10 weeks to finish my assessment. But they did not notify me when sending out my assessment... Glad that I emailed and called them one day after they sent out the mail.
  3. Dear all, I have been searching around the web (and this forum) but found little about how to find and sercure a secondary math teaching job in NSW, so I guess maybe posting a message here would be helpful. Recently I got my positive AITSL assessment for occupation "secondary school teacher" and just send out my application for Statement of Eligibility toNSW Institute of Teachers. In addition to that, I start looking for a math teaching job in NSW from offshore since it always takes a lot of work to prepare. I had all my higher education and teacher training in the U.S. (yes, I know, this is a UK forum), and have little knowledge of Australian secondary math system. Any adivce for me, such as where to find information about NSW secondary math system, job posts, what I need to address in my cover letter and be prepared for potential interviews? Anything would be helpful! I am supposed to arrive in AUS by the end of this year and need a job to financially support myself. Many thanks.
  4. Has anyone here got AITSL result recently? Mine is on the 7th week now, and wonder how long do I still need to wait... Do you think calling AITSL may help?
  5. Should I ask FBI to mail my fingerprint result to DIAC directly? Or it is fine to let them mail to my place? The reason that I am asking this is that, it takes up to 12 weeks to process the criminal background check. If I wait until my CO asks me for that, it will delay the entire application process. I check out http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/character-requirements/character-penal.pdf, it says "only FBI checks directly issued by the FBI are accepted by DIAC.“ I am out of the States now and won't get back there within two years. So the earlier I can get my result, the better. Please help!
