  1. I'm sorry to hear it hasn't worked out. We live in perth and we hadn't ever been here before, we just did research. We have no family here either and we made a decision that before we applied for pr that hubby would come out to oz on a WHV to look for work/rental etc. he did secure a job which I helped set up from the uk and the rental was down to research from me and he went to meet the landlords after I set it up. We then applied for pr and now we are all here enjoying the life we wanted. Like someone said, this "dream" is what the individual sees not what others make u believe. We know that australia is a first world country like the one we just left ( UK ) so we had no expectations that it would be of higher standard etc. hubby is earning a better living here, we hav spent so much more time together as a family, not even having to spend money. Hubby has gone back to work today. We are happy that our quality of life is better than uk but that's down to our choices. U need to be in the right place and have the right attitude. Hope things work out for you but don't give up too hastily, why not try your luck in Sydney?
  2. yeah, they wanted some further tax docs which we sent immediately but they waited 28 days to look at them then they asked for a second stat declaration about period of self employment. Then few more days of waiting then we got what we had been waiting for yay!!!!!!!!
  3. Because I'm only on holiday visa :-)
  4. Hi, haven't visited this site for awhile as only just got decent internet up and running. We have now got a pr visa after a bit of a wait. 19th December we had the golden email. Now we just have to fly offshore for three days and then back home to perth to activate it :-))) we are going to visit Bali :-) thanks for all support on here. It's been great. So, from start to finish including skills assessment, it's taken us 9 months which isn't bad going. have a great Xmas everyone x x x
  5. Hey, I'm married, 27, and have three kids aged 9,5 and 2. I live in ridgewood which is further north from you I think. But if u ever want to meet up at all then we came to Hillary's boat harbour recently and enjoyed it so that's a possibility or one day maybe coffee etc. add me on fb and we can talk some more......Kerri bounds and my profile pic is me and three kids eating ice cream :-) x
  6. Hiya, I'm posting this wondering if there are any other newbies or even non newbies that would like to make a new friend :-) I live in ridgewood, perth and looking to make some friends :-) if anyone would like to get in touch please do! I am 27 and I have three children aged 9, 5 and 2. We have moved from the UK. :-)
  7. just wondering if anyone else had this team and could advise on timelines etc?
  8. very frustrating for us really as don't see the point in holding back....you would have thought they would want to move onto the next case. why 35 days?
  9. team 4 adelaide. the immi agent was very nice and said "im going to put you through to your case officer so you can have a chat with him as i see your meds are finalised etc" so....he put me through but no answer so i left a message then a few hours later i get an email saying that he isn't going to look at further docs he requsted until after the 28 days have expired. not sure why but never mind, my agent said that CO will know we are already in oz as it is all to do with passports etc so we are just going to enjoy ourselves a little and hopefully when we least expect it we will get our golden email.
  10. still waiting....i am going to stop worrying about it now and we are flying out on a holiday visa next week so i expect our visa will b granted whilst we are there! i rang immi and they said all meds finalised etc so not sure of the hold up but we are going to enjoy our last few days here and look forward to the email when it happens lol
  11. i feel the same! we havent heard from CO since they requsted some additional docs on the 30/09.......stressed isn't the word
  12. its extra details for applicants over 18 such as where u have been on holiday in last 10 years etc. your CO may/maynot ask for it
  13. thats great flatpack! we are still waiting for grant.....haven't heard anything since we sent back tax docs straight away........i am going to stay up and ring them later

  15. it has been a nightmare and the kids are so pleased to have him back....our little boy got up so early this morning and said he only did to check daddy was still here, bless his heart. never want to be apart again! yeah, he has a solid job and has had since june (his boss turns out to be someone who lived 30 mile away from us in the UK) unbelievable. thank you very much and i will for sure keep you posted, good luck to you too and post your progress hopefully we will all have some good news next week
  16. oh right, well it will have to be tuesday then lol! why do they ask so many questions and what like? hopefully hear something next week. we are renting a house out there and hubby settled with a job and hes just had 5 months alone out there and we couldn't cope any longer
  17. no, no news unfortunatley. hubby arrived back yesterday so we need our visas asap so we can all validate together. if 190 doesn't come through, we are going to go out on holiday visa coz hubby needs to get back to his job. i am going to chase things up tomorrow. CO requested additional tax details 30/09/ and we haven't heard anything since so i am hoping everything else is fine and they were just finalising things all of last week so this week will b 'the week' fingers crossed
  18. they emailed asking for some tax documents so these have been sent now. hopefully as this was all they asked for, that they were happy with everything else :-) good luck!
  19. I'm sorry I don't know as we have an agent. He said they emailed today asking for some further tax documents which were sent straight away. Hoping that that means they are happy with everything else and that we should get granted :-)

  21. CO allocated last week.....exactly 5 weeks after lodgement!!!! yay!!!!
  22. congratulations!!amazing!!! I will be ringing on Monday as our 5 weeks was up on 25th September. maybe we do have one but just don't know lol...we can but hope. congrats again, really great news
  23. this is terrible!! you shouldn't feel bad....this is your life at the end of the day and when you have put so much into this whole process, emotionally and physically, it is only natural that you want to know what's happening, have there been any developments etc. i would have thought she would have been happy to give you the password in the hope you didn't need to call her as much :-) we have paid agents a lot of money but they don't seem grateful etc as when they get their money, they seem less than happy to speak to you. i hope you get your grant soon and this whole nightmare will be over. keep in touch, good luck :-)
