  1. Thanks everyone. Inshallah you will get to be with your loved ones soon. My wife's spouse visa case officer was K.A Last leaving date for her is in feb 2014
  2. My wife has been granted spouse visa Hope you guys get yours too. All the best Here is the timeline: Applied for both spouse and tourist visas on 15th of April 2013 Tourist visa granted three weeks later Medical request 14 May my wife was asked to go offshore on 13th of August as the application was ready for decision wife left Australia 14th of September Visa Granted 19th of September Notifed of Grant on 26th of September
  3. We lodged mid April and got request for medical after three weeks. Just to be exact
  4. You are mistaken buddy. My wife was sent request for medical one month after lodgement. Nowadays they are asking for medicals earlier in the application process. Don't get your hopes too high. It could still take 6 - 8 months
  5. Any female applicant in here who lodged via courier to the AHC in the past month or so? DHL confirmed that the application was received by the AHC on the 17th of April. We still haven't received the acknowledgement letter? What is going on? We pay Huge fees for partner visas and the service is just disgusting. Why are they taking so long just to issue an acknowledgement letter ?
  6. They have their own envelopes. They will put your passport into an envelope and send it to the High commission. Once the high commission is done with the visa they will send your passport to the AVAC and the AVAC will then call you and tell you to come over to the center and collect it.
  7. and yeah they collected her biometrics in the center and also took her passport
  8. I am in Australia now but I was with my wife when we lodged her tourist visa application in Islamabad. So we went to Karachi company in Islamabad with the visa application and the visa application's supporting documents. I put in my credit card details in the form but they said they won't accept that so i created a bank draft of 11,700 rupees from Soneri bank which is located next to the application center. She went in center and gave them the application, passport, photos etc. It took two hours! even though i booked the VIP thing. they are rip offs who just want your money.
  9. How are you submitting the visit visa application? Are you going to the AVAC to submit your application or is your spouse going to send it to the AHC from Australia? They will ask you to submit biometrics no matter what and with that you have to submit your passport. Once they make a decision on your visa, they will call you and ask you to come collect your passport and the decision letter. There will be no visa label in your passport
  10. Thanks Xarabb, aussiegirlbay and FirstKnight for all of your comments. By FRC i meant the one from Nadra. I already sent them my wife's Form 54 and by decision ready application i meant providing everything that they required for partner visa processing DHL delivered the application last week Tuesday and we still haven't received an acknowledgement letter. This is really frustrating
  11. hi XaraBB I noticed you applied after they brought the biometrics in. Did you apply for your partner visa at the visa application centre? or did you partner send documents from Australia to the AHC?
  12. Thanks Mickey Mac. Has anyone in here applied for partner visa after they brought in the biometrics thing? When will they tell my wife to go do the biometrics? Has anyone applied for both spouse as well as tourist visa? Will she have to go twice to the visa centre for biometrics? Cheers
  13. The other thing that could cause the delay is me and wife are pashtuns from Khyber pukhtunkhwa She is from Peshawar Any other pashtuns applying?
  14. Hi my wife's documents were delivered to the AHC yesterday afternoon. How soon can we expect an acknowledgement letter? How soon can we expect a case officer to be allocated? We submitted all of the documents required by the AHC mentioned on the partner visa checklist. The only thing missing is the medical. Also, I applied though a migration agent here in Australia. So wondering if that is going to make a difference. The migration agent pushed for a decision ready application and so he submitted everything except for the medical. This might help any future applicant.. What the migration agent told me was that once the case officer at AHC gets to your application and something is missing, they ask you for the required document and then they put you in a queue. When they again get to your application and they cant find the required document they asked for, they put you back in the queue. If they are happy with the document they go to the next step. If they still see something missing, they ask for it and again put you back in the queue. The number of partner visas is growing and they are under resourced. The staff can misplace documents and this can cause unnecessary delays. So best to wait for police check/marriage certificates and submit everything on the AHC checklist. Everything. I don't know if the above is going to make a difference but as per the agent it does make a huge difference. The only thing i think of is that they could ask for is the FRC as I have seen on the forums they do ask for this. This however has not been mentioned on the partner visa checklist so lets see. Lets hope for the best. Inshallah we all will be with our loved ones. Regards, exirsc
