We have been thinking about relocating to Oz for a while now, but have finally set a date in our heads to move! I am new to the whole relocation process, so was just wondering if someone could help me? We are looking at moving over July/August 2014, so when should I begin the process of getting the ball rolling? I am a midwife so I imagine I will get a job fairly easily, but my partner is a primary school teacher and he only did a 3 year degree so I think he won't e able to work out there. May have to go and find him a job when we are there! Any help would be appreciated

This isn't true. I have lots of friends who have emigrated to Oz and are only qualified midwives not RNs x

Hi everyone, My partner and I have been thinking about making the move to Oz for a while. We have a 1 year old son and definitely want to take the leap in the next year-18 months. I have a few questions if you don't mind... Firstly, I think we want to live in NSW, but have absolutely no idea where! So any advice on family friendly areas/towns would be appreciated. Secondly, our son has congenital glaucoma, so do you know if we would be able to receive Medicare? Or would we have to have private health insurance? I am a midwife and my partner is a teacher, so we are hoping to be able to get jobs relatively easily. Does anyone know how easy it is to get permanent residence? Look forward to hearing from you all. I am so excited! My partner on the other hand, is a bit of a family man, so is apprehensive about leaving his relatives!
