  1. We applied for a 189 visa on the 28th of April , front loaded all our docs including medicals and police checks . Still waiting for a case officer but are hoping we will be given a direct grant , but that's just wishful thinking . The waiting is just killing us !!!!! From others experience how long roughly do we have to wait for a decision to be made one way or another ? I know it's like asking how long is a piece of string but any indication from other peoples experiences would be gratefully received as my wife is "nippin ma heid " about how long and when we can put house on market etc . Thanks M.

    Form 80 ?????

Just when we think we have filled in and uploaded every possible form this form 80 seems to reared it's ugly head !!!! We applied for a 189 visa on the 28th of April , front loaded all our docs including our medicals and police checks and while reading other peoples timelines we have noticed some people have also done a form 80 , does everyone have to fill one out as when we look at other peoples timelines they only mention medicals , police checks ? Is this just an extra form the CO may ask for ? We are really fed up waiting , more so my wife who feels her life is in limbo and is nipping my heid about the wait !!!! Thanks guys M.
  3. We also applied for a 189 visa on the 28th of April and are still waiting for our CO , we have uploaded every required document and now just hope we get a decision soon .All of this waiting is tough , we have jumped through so many hoops and paid out a fortune but hopefully the end is in sight . Good luck guys ,it's good to know we are not alone
  4. Guys , thank you for your quick and speedy replies , our points breakdown are as follows Age 33-39 25 points English IELTS 20 points Education Degree 15 points State spon Victoria 5 points Years exp ACS 10 points Total 75 points We have applied on the skill of Business Analyst 261111 We went with State Sponsorship as we thought the process would be quicker but having done some further investigation it looks like we were wrong as both timelines seem to be similar so we are now wondering if we should also submit an EOI on a 189 visa , any thoughts or opinions would be gratefully received . As ever Monk
  5. Hi everyone , firstly thank you all for getting us this far without your help and advice we would still be at the start of this long lonely process . We have just submitted an EOI with skillselect for a 190 visa for Victoria with 75 points , my question is can we also submit an EOI for a 189 visa with 70 points at the same time or should we just wait and see how our 190 visa pans out ? Once again thank you all in this community who give up their time and wisdom for free so others might benefit and achieve their dreams of living in Australia . As ever Monk
  6. We have finally finished our RPL report for the ACS ,my god that was a hell of a lot of work . Will upload it tonight and then wait the 12 weeks or so .
  7. Hi again , after doing a little more research on various sites I now realise that people feel very strongly about sharing other peoples rpl 's , all I'm looking for is some tips in the best way to complete this report , if you did something that the ACS didn't like , what should we focus on and what not to . Sorry if my first post looked like I was looking for a report to copy that wasn't my intention ,realise just how much work is involved and don't want to concentrate on the wrong areas that's all . Thanks everyone and I hope this makes things a little clearer
  8. Hi guys, looking for some help, does anyone have experience or knowledge about completing RPL Report, my wife is trying to complete and has looked at the format sample from ACS but wondered if there was anywhere she could look at a completed example to get more of an idea as to what is required, level of detail etc. Thanks in advance.
  9. ok got it to work , I had to change my internet browser from internet explorer to safari
  10. When we tried to apply via the online application for individuals a new window did open but remained blank , pop up blocker disabled , has anyone else experienced this and how did you finally manage to apply ? Cheers M.
  11. my wife sat it about 6 weeks ago , she did the online practice tests , she also bought the book from the test centre which had more tests in it as well as examples of previous test answers in it . On the speaking test she tried not to say um or eh to often but a few did creep in , she was also put off of her stride a little by some of the wacky topics she had to speak about . Hope this helps , good luck
  12. While trying to find a notary in the Edinburgh area I was shocked at the huge difference in costs charged by these companies , one company wanted £10 per sheet !!!! I was lucky enough to find a company that did 17 sheets ( which they copied for me ) and all they asked for was a donation to a local charity that they support . I know we aren't meant to advertise on this site so I won't name them but they are on Giles Street Edinburgh . Is it just me or does everyone want money from us in the quest to move to Oz ? It seems they all want a piece of us Ielts , notary , ACS , medicals , visa etc etc ???? rant over
  13. Sam best of luck to you , it was my wife who sat the exam and she was very aware she was umming far to much but she ended up with an 8 for speaking , she felt some of the topics were a little strange but tried not to let it phase her to much. The worst bit is the 13 day wait for the results
  14. good luck Geordie Lass , Bimbobread we are either doing the 189 or 190 visa , just getting docs together for the ACS
  15. Just had the results for IELTS exam which my wife sat on the 25th of May Reading 9 Listening 9 ( which I cant believe as she never listens to me ) Writing 8.5 Speaking 8 So thats another step toward our dream
  16. woohoo occupation needed still on it !!!!!!!!!! pop a beer in the fridge I'll be over soon all going well
  17. Hey everyone looking for some more advice , we were wondering if my wife should apply as a business analyst or a systems analyst as her job pretty much covers both criteria , looking to move to Perth as have family there ,any advice greatly received As ever M.
  18. Thanks TeeTMI , we thought was the case re business analysts for this year but weren't entirely sure, but we reckon by the time we gather and prepare all of the documents needed by the ACS , sit the IELTS it would be around the end of June anyway. My wives skills also match both the business development manager and the project management criteria so hopefully at least one of these will be on next years list .
  19. Littlefoot thank you very much , we think we are going to apply for a 189 visa ,our nominated occupation is on the SOL list ICT business analyst 261111 .My wife is going to be the main applicant on the visa as she has between 70 to 85 points depending if we include her aunt and uncle who live in Oz as part of our application or not . On this visa I take it myself and the 2 kids will be included too but will I be able to work also when we arrive in Oz ?
  20. This really does help thank you ever so much

    Ielts

Looking for more help , how do we go about getting the IELTS ? Once again thank you all for the help thus far , Mark
  23. Everyone thank you for taking the time to reply to my plee for help so quickly , we now feel we are not alone and more importantly we now have some direction in which to begin our journey . Hopefully other people will read these posts and get the information they needed but felt unable to ask . The only stupid question is the one thats never asked . Thanks again
  24. WOW that was a quick first reply thank you Del70 , my wife has a degree in business management and for the last 5 years she has worked as a change business manager , leading various projects with the SQA here in Scotland , I think we come under the IT Analyst catagory on the SOL list . We know we want to live in Perth but are getting confused as the visas are all numbered rather than named and there are so many inititals to deal with such as EOI , SOL etc . Cheers Mark
