  1. Hi aussiegirlbay Thanks for your response. I completed the health check and xray last June for my current visa, but the blood test was an optional extra that I didn't complete as it was not necessary for the visa I was applying for. Now I'm applying for PR I need the blood test only to complete the medical requirements as my medical check and xray are still valid. Hoping to save the hassle and expense of doing the medical check and xray again - does anyone out there if it is possible to do the blood test only? Cheers LlamainOz
  2. Hi all Does anyone have any experience in arranging a blood test only? I completed the health check and chest chest xray last June so still valid for 2/3 months. I'm now awaiting a CO (applied 04/03/13) and wonder if it is possible to have a blood test only instead of doing the whole lot again. The medibank website doesn't give the option and they weren't very informative when I called. Emails to the DIAC have gone unanswered. I'm keen to front load to speed up the process but don't want to redo the full medical if not necessary. Any experiences on this would be good to hear. Also, what is the validity on UK and Aus police checks? I've read conflicting reports. Cheers LlamainOz
  3. Hi PoMoSo I am a POM and moved to Aus in 2008 to study on a student visa. After graduating I moved onto the graduate visa (485) while sorting our my PR application which I'm on now, though I have just submitted my PR application (189). So - though I didn't study in Oz to get PR (I genuinely wanted to study here, that was my sole intention), it has worked out well for me. Expensive, but nonetheless it's been great. I have lived out here for 5 years and had I studied/worked in the UK to get to necessary points, well I doubt I'd be out here yet. So - good luck. If you can justify the expense, and are genuinely wanting to study here - then go for it. LlamainOz
  4. Hi everyone I submitted my 189 application on the 4th of March, with everything but health checks uploaded. I'm wondering whether I should await a CO (do not have one assigned yet) to tell me to get my health checks, or should I do it now, so that when a CO is assigned all documents required are with them, and might help to expedite the process? If anyone has any recent experiences on how long it's taken to get a CO (priority 4), and how long after your visa has been granted that would be great. Cheers LlamainOz
