Hi Rupert, I'm applying for a WHV to come out for a year, then doing my 88 days in farming/fruit picking etc to get my 2nd yr WHV so I'll have about a year and a half after traveling etc to look for a permanent job. I'm hoping to get a job sponsored visa once I've found somewhere to work, maybe after interning at a magazine/newspaper or publishing house, given that I can be employed in a paid job under the working visa legally for 6 months. I spoke to one of the Australian visa companies and they said it's ok to actively seek permanent employment under the WHV.

Anyone else in or looking to head into journalism or publishing? I know they're on the list of wanted skills for Australia but I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to get into the business or internships etc?

Hey, so this might sounds a bit random but here's the place for meet ups if anywhere... Is there anyone currently living in Oz or who is looking to head out around the end of this year time who does pole fitness/pole dance and knows anywhere good to pole around Oz. I'm planning on visiting Bobbi's studio in Sydney and the PDA at Bondi Junction too, and also try and get some time with Anh Le, but all that is just in Sydney and I'd love to involve visits to pole studios all over Australia whilst I travel around it too! Plus it would be nice to meet up with fellow poler bears and do some urban poling whilst out there!

When did you say you wanted to go out? Cos if you're under 26, I went on STA travel today and a one way going out at the beginning of December was only like £580, which I was loving! Didn't check to see the multiflex thingy though...

I'm planning on going out in early December. Anyone else thinking of doing fruit picking during the main summer season of Dec-Mar/Apr? I've got distant family in Sydney but apart from that I'm going on my own too! Also, where did you guys go to get your WHV? Did you get it via STA with their helpful thingymabobble or did you just do it off the Aus Gov website? Because I've got to save up to buy mine yet (as I don't graduate til July) and I'm terrified its a bunch of complicated paperwork online that I'm going to get wrong?!
