Hi Guys

When you get an approval , do you get an intimation email from the immi online portal or it turns from Recieved to Approved and you can only see it when you log in to your application portal ? Is it also normal to get an approval letter in the normal post and still have received status in the online portal ?

Guys it seems like they have stopped processing any applications . There are not many recent test invites or approvals/ceremony seen in this and other forums.

 If the delays are because of general elections then when are the elections due ?  I am from November 2017 , but I see may people still waiting from June, July August still waiting for test invites .

I submitted all the possible required documents at the time of application even my MA was not willing to do it but i forced her to submit everything. So today they did not ask me any further documents. They simply approved my visa .

I applied to 186 Visa on 30th June 2016.I work-live in Regional area and I've heard that from many it's advantage as compare to who applied from Sydney ,Melbourne etc.. You guys agree?

It doesn't matter at this time . But don't worry it wont take too long anyway because the amount of applications logged during last few months are litterly nothing as compare to last year or the period before april and may . So hope for the best and good luck.

I'm having a little bit of trouble understading my payslip . Can someone tell me how much weekly pay should be on the pay slip while you're on 457 visa to make it $53900 minimum required for the 457 visa.

Can it be different on some weeks to make it $53900 by the end of the financial year ? Because it should be 112.91 to make it $53900 per anum. Or if the some australian working in the same position being paid less then this then should a 457 worker be paid as much as he is being paid or ???

What does " assessment in progress means" ? Does it mean that the visa officer has already started working on your application or its only a staus by the computers checking if all the required documents are attached and rlthe file is ready to be allocated?

Overseas police check is valid for 6 month not for 12 month only AFP is valid for a year,I knew it coz I submitted 2 times my overseas police check in between a year. ..so make sure mate

Thanks for your help . On DIBP website they say its valid for 12 months that's i though i should ask . Did they actually ask you for an overseas police check twice in twelve months or it is only a matter of being ready to get another check as there is a strong chance of them asking again .

I have a small question about overseas police check if someone can answer. I and my wife applied for 186 in april and our overseas police check at that time was only 3 months old . The application is still in progress and may take a few months before it gets finalized. As the police checks are apparently valid for 12 months so is there any chances of visa officer requesting for a new police check even we never left australia since then and the existing one is still valid and still have 8 or nine months validity on it? Because while here in Australia getting the police check done from my country is very difficult. So we should better start working on it now if there is a possibility of requesting another police check by DIBP.

Congrats mate .... you are lucky . It depends sometime its a same CO deciding both nomination and visa application. I jave a feeling you will get 187 by tomorrow or maximum this week . Good luck and keep updating us. I applied my stand alone nomination on 15th of December and still no news . I applied my visa last month as it was expiring on 15th pf march so couldn't really do a decision ready one . Any ways I still haven't heard about nomination.

How much time it took you to get your PR? I mean ur 187 timeline ?

I'm still waiting on my nomination which my employer lodged in December 2012 . I lodged my visa application this month as my student visa was expiring. Let's see how I go . My application is a complete decisions ready checklist but it all depends on nomination . They will not even look into it if something gose wrong with nomination.

I have been living in Australia since may 2010 but on a student visa and never went offshore since then . Dose that matter? I mean will my student visa time be counted too?

Dose anybody know when the citizenship count down time starts? Like when we apply a permanent resident visa and get a bridging visa dose that one year starts from the bridging visa grant date if later on we get the permanent residency. Or it will start from the grant date of permanent residence?
