  1. Hi guys, I do hope someone can help me although I have been told it is not really possible to get a visa... So i'm 38 years old (39 in April) my wife is 36 and we have 3 year old son. I am a City and Guilds NVQ Level 2 Plumber, also recently Gas Safe Certified. I got my Level 2 Plumbing qualification in June 2014 and I have been Plumbing for 3 years. I have been told I need to have a Level 3 NVQ qualification plus 5 years experience as my current qualification counts for nothing, does anyone know if this is true? Prior to becoming a Plumber I was in Sales and Marketing with no qualifications. My wife is a teacher with a 4 year Higher Diploma in Education, she has over 10 years experience but its in Primary school not a demand in Oz at this time. We've explored this option but it sounds like a dead end for us too. If you could help me with some info for our Ozzie dream it would be hugely appreciated. Cheers, Bryan
  2. Thanks for all the usefull information. It looks like I am going to have to top up my 4 year Higher Diploma to a degree, has anyone done this before or been in a similar position?
  3. Hello everyone, My Husband, my 2 year old son and I would like to start our application process as we would love to move to Perth. Upon starting our investigations into getting a skilled migartion visa, there seems to be conflicting information regarding my Qualifications. I obtained a 4 year Higher Diploma in Education in 2000 in South Africa, I then moved to London and have been teaching ever since. I also did my QTS in 2006 (Qualified Teacher Status) in the UK. I have now spoken to Migrations Agents and they have said that I need a degree in order to obtain a skilled visa. Has anybody else been in this situation?I know I can send off for my qualificatins to be assessed but this can take three months to get back and I really need to know as soon as possible as if my qualifications do not meet the australian equivalent then I need to upgrade my higher diploma to a degree somehow. Has anybody not met the equivalence with their teaching diploma and somehow done a course which allowed them to teach in Australia?
