  1. Hi, I've also been looking at schools in northern perth. I have a 6 year old(7 in May). I looked at a few schools and some said year 2 and another had dates born between and that put him in year 1.... So a tad confused myself as he is in yr 2 at he moment in the UK!
  2. Hi Nikkiwd, sorry not been on for ages! Hope you are all organised, not long until you are off. Good news our end, we got our sponsorship, just awaiting visa grant and heading to Perth around mid march. We are heading for northern subburbs too. Butler/Jindalee/mindarie area so may see you out there!!....... Very exciting!!
  3. I knew in my head, they couldn't fail us on anything else. I gave them everything they asked for- except the college certificate. The letter from the chairman explained that it didn't exist 25 years ago, everything was time served then. They wanted a transcript of the course. I sent 107 pages too. I've been looking at the north, Jindalee, Mindarie and Butler. We have friends that side of Perth but would much rather rent somewhere we can realistically afford to buy. Don't want to keep moving my son schools. We are just about to start the visa process over the next couple of weeks, so shouldn't really take that long. I would imagine April/May all going well....... Fingers crossed!! Just need a permanent job at the end as we are over the 40 age bracket!!
  4. Hi Dave, best advice I can offer is overload them with info as they will fail you on the little things. If you are stating that your self employed, just make sure you cover off all the points in the guidelines, such as staff etc who worked for you. Were you a Sub contractor? If you were make sure you detail everything, like... Materials supplied by main contractor, we did a personal statement detailing every hard and power tool used, types of job, write it like you're explaining to someone what a plasterer is. Include any references, they'll ask for 3 for self employment. Make sure you get every document certified, we used our accountant. It's a lot of wrk but will be worth it.We have been through 2 attempts now and failed on 1 tiny thing( a certificate) which doesn't exist. Please feel free to ask as many questions as you need ánd ill do my best to help. Wen.
  5. hi, nikkiwd. Sorry it's taken a while to reply, been on holiday. Yes, we got word but its not good news. They failed us on 1 point!! We don't have a college certificate. Even tho my husband has his apprenticeship completion papers, we even included a letter from the chairman of the apprenticeship board stating that at the time, there was no formal vocational training but he's regarded as present day NVQ111. They acknowledged the completion, experience etc but can't make the comparison against the AQF111..... We have a job offer in Perth under a temp visa for 4 years(457). I think we are about to take the gamble and hope we get offered a permanent position for PR!!!!...... How are things your end?? Have young us got your date in?
  6. Brilliant, thanks.. Hopefully the postman brings some happy news this week!
  7. We are the same, I've just done all the research online, we are hoping to apply for SA state sponsorship as we have friends there, may ask you a few questions once we know if that's ok? I keep checking the SA site and stu's trade is highly available!.. We have friends heading to Perth st the end if next month... Visa all done n dusted in about 3/4 months after skills assesment so you won't be long!
  8. Tell me about it!!! The first time time didn't feel as long!,, fingers crossed its here this week! Are you doing it all yourself or have ou used an agent?. May need to pick your brain in the next stages, just to be sure we are on the right track!!!
  9. Thanks Shearer, Im feeling excited/nervous as it must be this week, feeling a bit more hopeful now that Jamie has his.... Keep everything crossed!!!
  10. oh Jamie!!!! How fantastic...delighted you got the right result!!!! That's great news, are you super excited?? Now onto the next step!! We are still waiting! I have a feeling it's this week! very well done again!
  11. Hey Nikkiwd... How's you?? We are still waiting!! It can't be much longer now, that was 26th July we re submitted! Must be in its way by now surely??? How are things progressing your end??
  12. We are in the same position, resent everything on 26 July...still waiting, our info was 107 pages so defo don't have any more to give, hopefully it's not too long now. On a positive we have friends who got theirs approved after 3 attempts, just back in June and their visa has now been granted... Fingers crossed!!! Keep me posted.
  13. We have also been looking at Adelaide and so far most of the schools I've seen online have good after school hours. I was also hoping that there may be people on here who can recommend. Might be worth joining poems in Adelaide.
  14. That's great news! Are you starting to feel excited?
  15. Well guys , wish us luck...that's the review finally away...the TRA countdown begins again!
  16. Well done nikkiwd , that's fantastic news. Certainly makes us feel a lot more positive.....4 weeks too!!!! Happy days!!! get the champers poured and enjoy!!!
  17. Hi Jamie, the apprenticeship board told us there's no chance of the syllabus so we have just put that in the personal statement. We originally sent a stat de the first time. I would include everything as it won't do any harm. Our review is going tomorrow... We also looked into RPL but no one in the uk at the minute does this for stonemasons. There was a company in London who said to call them mid August as they were trying to finalise, that doesn't leave enough time tho with the tra 60 day scenarios. good luck and keep me posted.
  18. Hi Jamie, are you just about to review?? Did you get anywhere with your certificate?? We are in the same boat, my partner only has his trade/craft card confirming his completion but the apprenticeship council have been really helpful. They have also told us there is no chance of a transcript or syllabus of his apprenticeship given it was so long ago. have you got everything all ready to go?.
  19. Hi, you can use the online portal for payment and then print your receipt page and attach to the front of all your documents.....good luck!!
  20. Hi Jupiter thanks for replying, I have searched and searched but cannot find an RTO for my occupation as a Stonemason. I don't mind sitting the exam if necessary. I found one guy, he doesn't get approval until August. I'm right on the border for age and by the time TRA return a result, it won't leave much room for the rest of the process. Any suggestions??? thanks
  21. I don't have an actual certificate of qualifications but got papers showing completion of an as apprenticeship, unsuccessful OK n first attempt with TRA, any advice would be welcomed.
  22. Hi nikkiwd, that's good news, fingers crossed it doesn't taKe as long this time. We finally got a response from TRA. They need a certificate so we have requested this from city & guilds, been 3 weeks now and nothing. Everything else is ready to go. I've had a good read thru the guidelines again and asked all the questions by email. To be fair, they answered them all and apologised for mentioning cook instead of stonemason. Here's hoping we get the cert soon as we are nearing the end of the 60 days and will end up lying $900 to review. keep me posted on how you are getting on.
