  1. Hello My family and I have just been granted our PR. We have been on 457 visa for the past 2 1/2 years. We were hoping we could get some help with what we need to change now we have our PR. i.e driving licence, medicare etc. Plus any other information that may help us along the way. Thanks Jo :cool::cool:
  2. Hello Its almost like i have written this. My emotions swing back and forth daily. We moved to toowoomba almost three years ago. My husband works in renal at the local hospital. We have a 15 year old daughter. We have a great lifestyle our daughter has a great education. I cannot 100% enjoy it as i am not sharing it with all the people i love the most. I too feel soo guilty for moving so far away. Ita tough not seeing nieces and nephews grow up. We miss our family immensely. I even find it tough calling them or skyping as we all leave the conversations feeling sad. We have a better life in australia. We are currently building a new home have met wonderful people also who invite us for christmas but as you mentioned it does not feel like christmas and is not celebrated like back home. If you ever feel like a chat please message me . Its a horrible feeling Jo
  3. Im a little confused and would love some help. My family and I are currently living in Toowoomba on 457 visas with reciprocal health care, however we are looking to take out a Health insurance policy to cover our dental etc. When I looked online I noticed that lots of sites offer 457 only heath policies. Now that we are here and are residents from a tax point of view do we have to take this policy or can we look at the taking out a normal one. The 457 oversea visitor ones seem to be a lot more expensive. I thought I would ask before I did myself out of pocket.:wub:
