  1. Hi Hermalrood, I have noted my timeline below:- - EA skills assessment applied 8th Feb - EA successful skills assessment - 8th April - IELTS complete - 23rd March (R8.5, L8.5, W8.5, S 9.0) - EOI submitted - 8th April - Visa invite - 22nd April - 189 Visa app submitted 27th April - Allocated CO - Friday 17th May - PCC uploaded - 27th May - Medicals - Monday 3rd June - Advised CO was (initials DC) & Team 34 Brisbane - 4th July - Advised we had new CO (initials PM) but still Team 34 Brisbane - 20th August - Visa Granted - 12th September I think the reason it took so long to get our grant was because our original CO left and we then had to wait a few weeks to be assigned another one. I guess that's just one of those things. Good luck with your grant.
  2. I know, I am really looking forward to going away and not having to think about checking my emails.. That's great, you have definitely got the ball rolling, I can't believe your heading off in mid October.. very jealous. If you don't mind letting me know how you got on with the shippers as that will be my next thing to tackle once we get back from our hols.xx
  3. Thank you, its still hard to believe its true. We are off on holiday tomorrow to Portugal so once we get back the planning will commence. I hope your plans are coming along nicely. xx
  4. We got our GRANT through this morning!! Finally we can start planning for next year.:jiggy:
  5. We were hoping to head to Perth at the end of October but it feels a little too tight now, as we haven't done anything about our flat yet and we would still need to hand our notice in to our works etc. So I am thinking the end of Jan now which isn't what we want but I certainly didn't think it would take this long to be approved. What are your plans?
  6. I hope no-one has to wait as long as we are, we hoped to be out by the end of Oct but there is no way of that happening now so looks like it will be next year before we head out. It's the waiting game that is killing me, I just wish they would tell you what is happening, I think we are going to email our new CO tonight and see if she can even advise how far she has got accessing our application. I can't believe we started this process in Feb and it's still on-going. I hope you get a CO soon and the ball can't start rolling for you. xx
  7. Thanks for responding, I guess what I am a little confused about is how much the CO is allowed to tell you. I thought the whole point in a CO was to keep you up to date with what is happening but that hasn't been the case for us and I am a bit nervous in emailing the CO asking lots of questions & then it annoys them even more so it slows things down even further. I think we should email her tonight to see if she can give any further updates.
  8. Hi, I have been looking at this thread over the past few months for lots of hints and tips whilst we have been going through the 189 Visa process ourselves. We applied at the end of April and we still haven't had our Visa approved, my husband is a Traffic Engineer so he is the main visa applicant. He has completed his skills assessment and passed with no issues, he then sat IELTS and got an overall 8.5 which just gave us additional points. We submitted our EOI with 80 points at the start of April and then applied a few weeks after we got our invitation, we got allocated a CO very quickly which was the 2nd week in May so we were so chuffed but since then we have only had the odd email from our CO and he just keeps advising us that things are progressing as they should. We then got another email from a new CO at the start of this week saying our previous CO has now moved departments and she is taking over things. I just don't understand how we can have a CO for nearly 4 months and not be approved. I have asked if we need to provide any additional doc's and they have said no, we weren't referred on our medicals as I have checked this and we all passed. There is 3 of us on the application as we have a 1 year old son and we are just so lost as to why it's taking so long. We are from the UK (Edinburgh) and all police checks were fine as well, the CO's haven't really been that informative or helpful as to why it's taking so long. Anyone else have any ideas as to why things are taking so long, I feel like giving up as every morning I hope we have that grant email and it just feels like it's never coming. Thanks
  9. Hi all I recently applied for a skills assessment from Engineers Australia on the basis of ANZSCO Code 233215 - Transport Engineer under Washington Accord, which I have a relevant honours degree in and have been working for almost 7 years now. EA came back saying I wasn't able to be assessed under Washington Accord, but could be assessed as an Engineering Technologist (ANZSCO 233914) under Sydney Accord. My degree and experience satisfy current the academic requirement for the latter. My problem is that we planned to apply for State sponsorship in WA as a Transport Engineer and are therefore reluctant to submit our EOI using the Engineering Technologist. Does anyone have similar experience? Can I submit the EOI using as a Transport Engineer knowing this contradicts the occupational classification I have been advised is appropriate? Would doing this mean the EOI would be incorrect/invalid? Thanks

    Hello

Hi all My wife and I are new to the forum and will probably both be posting from this username! we are in the process of lodging an EOI for a 189 and 190 Visa. We've used old posts from others to get us to where we are but are getting to the point of the process where specific questions need answers- which is where all you guys come in! So far I have applied for a skills assessments and successfully passed an IELTS test. as well as taking info from the forum we hope to be able to contribute using our experience so far!
  11. Hello, I have just joined so I am sorry if people have already asked these questions before, my husband and I are looking into a 189 Visa to move to Perth. We spent 9 months in Sydney last year and really enjoyed it but we went to Perth to catch up with some friends and we just fell in love with the place. My husband is a traffic engineer and from looking at the skill select occupations he would be eligible to apply for a 189 visa. We think the next step is for him to complete a skills assessment with Engineers Australia but I am not 100% sure, has anyone been in our situation before. We have looked into going through an agency but I just grudge the cost so trying to do everything ourselves, it seems like a lot of paper work but I think we should get there. If anyone has any advise it would be greatly appreciated Thanks Elaine
