  1. Hi everyone, Just been reading this thread. I passed my skills assessment with TRA as an aircraft engineer (mechanical) on the 24/04/13!! next up... IELTS. I was wondering how you know which test you have to take? The general or the academic. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance! Found answer from ielts blog!
  2. Well the good news is it has been delivered! Sooo.. Now the real fun starts. It's arrived before 1st March cut off now we just have to see if it gets 'thrown out' or considered - spoke to hubby and think by the sounds of it Candygirl, doing it ourselves would be the way to go if we 'survive' TRA assessment! Haha eeek :chatterbox:
  3. Hi Gbuss, we've certainly done it in 'laments' terms even we the short amount of time we had to get it together we went over and over it! Lol... Thanks Candygirl, I figured that its better to have more detail than less so that's good! I'm not sure if it was 'ringbinder' amount but hopefully plenty enough of the right things my new daily (hourly!) obsession has been tracking the package with the courier reference so I can imagine when we get issued with TRA ref then I'll check obsessively on their site too. How nice it would be for this to be A-OK! I'm sure you guys were the same but it's on my mind constantly. Will we manage this? If so it'll be 'what's the next hurdle?' Haha.. And 'do we use an agent after having done this part?' Hmmmm...
  4. Thanks for that, it's good to know we should expect notification once received, it's due to arrive on the 25th so in plenty of time for our March first cut off. We literally have put every certificate, pay statement etc we could think of along with application itself of course and think its decision ready... Fingers crossed! So nervous! We originally went with Marina at Go Matilda but she'd explained (after first pay,ent :-(... Not her fault I know!) that she realistically couldn't get it all together and sorted in that time frame and when asked what we could do next, if anything, that it was best to go it alone and try.... After all what's another $300 when you know you'll fork put here there and everywhere anyway haha!
  5. Hi guys! Currently my Husband is applying for a 189 skilled migration visa as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) -(ANZSCO CODE 323112) and with all things it does not come without its hurdles. My Husband left his job in the Royal Air Force on March 1st 2012, time is rapidly running out in to get all the evidence (the twelve month time scale looming)sorted. i need to ask, when exactly is the application considered as being 'lodged' with TRA? this is critical for us to qualify for immigration. Is it considered lodged from the time it arrives with them or does it have to be documented in a system? Both my Husband and I are so very anxious as his Parents and Sister are citizens of Perth WA, moving to be with them is our aim. We hope that everything reaches TRA in time and we have fulfilled the requirements needed but who knows!? Would the TRA get in touch with us to ask for further information or is the application just quashed without feed back? Thanks in advance for any help/info! Marie
  6. Hi Craig, heard of the gorgon project seems a big un. Have you any contact details or know of any agency contact details so I can contact them about it. Are u in a similar field?
  7. I am currently employed as an ROV Pilot/Technician in th oil and gas industry in the North Sea. My wife and I are in the process of emigrating to Perth and was wondering if this career choice is buoyant over there and if there are many opportunities for people of my trade. Any help would be much appreciated.
  8. Thanks guys, just looking at different agencies. Having a look at go Matilda and oe visas as well. See what they are saying! thanks again
  9. Hi there, this is my first post on pio, so g'day to everyone! i have been looking into visa agents and on googling ' emigrating to Australia', the 'immigration advisory service 'came up in the advertisement bar. I was wondering if anyone had heard or used this companies services to apply for a visa. An agent called within an hour of filling in the free assessment. He seemed very knowledgeable on the subject. I'm just enquiring as there aren't many reviews or testimonials on the web for this company and u hear some scare stories. Any help would be much appreciated!
