  5. hello all at pomsinoz my question is.......... do i have to have a skills assessment if i have over 60 points already??? when i total up all my points it comes to 80 (with the 5 of wa sponsoring me) i have been told that i still have to pass the ielts and pass the skills assessment for plumber, which is my trade however my friend has been told at an australia seminar and by another that if your points come to over 60, his comes to 75, he will not have to do his ielts or a skills assessment is this information correct or incorrect? i have no problem with doing the test and the ielts but if this can be avoided it will save on time, effort and money thankyou in advance for any help, it will be greatly appreciated on this matter regards, kirk summers

  15. rupert how do you get to be nominated by state or territory for 190 visa??? done a bit more researching and the 190 seems to take longer to get (12 months), if you get the 189 it takes less time (6 months) but you have to stay in the same state for 2 years? is this info correct? if it is........does that mean if i was living in perth i would not be allowed to work offshore on the rigs as that might be classed as a different state? or does it mean just live in the same stae for 2 years? hope you can clear up my confusion regards
  16. hi all firstly......what is the difference between 189 & 190 visas??? the only difference i can obviously see is the 190 you have to be 'nominated by a state or territory', how do you get to be nominated by state or territory??? i am a 28 year old pipefitter/supervisor 10 years experience, i have nvq level 3 in metal fabrication and welding/pipefitting, also city & guilds level 2 in plumbing and central heating, good gcse results and lots of other ecitb supervisor courses etc - WILL I NEED TO TAKE A TRADE SKILLS TEST AND ENGLISH TEST??? i am totally new to this so any info apreciated! thanks kirk summers
