Hi everyone, Thank you for your replies. It's pretty much as we thought- nobody knows for sure either way but it's been good to get some opinions on both sides of the discussion. :biggrin: What I would say though, is that we are not trying to dodge recessions nor are we basing our move purely on what is going on with the housing market. Having been badly hit by the recession over here we are simply trying to get an idea of what the future might hold for us if we do decide to make the move. Obviously money isn't the only factor to consider but we need to know that we can secure jobs and afford a house to enjoy the lifestyle that attracted us to Australia in the first place! Hi everyone, Me and my partner have just been granted permanent residence visas for Australia but after such a long application process we are unsure whether we still want to make a permanent move or not. One of the reasons for this is that we are concerned that Australia might slide into a recession in the next few years and we would potentially be better off just waiting out the recession here in the UK. Does anyone have any first hand experience with the Australian housing market and if it is likely to go the same way as the UK? Any opinions, thoughts and comments are welcome!
