Hi, I have been granted Skilled Independent Visa (189). I nominated secondary school teacher as my profession. The visa grant notification says "Visa Conditions: NIL" Does this mean that there is nothing forcing me to stay working as a secondary school teacher if I can't find a job or dislike it? Thanks! I know - much sooner than we expected - we were originally planning on going over in Jan 2015 to give us time to save a little more! At least the stress is over

Hi debbio, It says in the email I received, 'If you send copies of your documents, ensure that they are certified copies'. Is scanning a document in not making a copy? Thanks Kris

Hi! I have just submitted my 189 visa application! However I didn't realise I would need to submit the documents right away (I thought you would post them). I have them all ready (apart from the CRB and health check) but they are not certified. How would I find a (trustworthy) migration agent to certify them for me? Also, how long will I have to submit the documents? Will they look at my application, not see any documents and decline me? Thanks, Kris

Hi, My partner and I are looking to apply for a 189 visa. Our points are as follows: 25 points for being 24 20 points for IELTS 8 (hopefully) 15 points for a BA(Hons) =60 points I am currently in my NQT year of teaching and so currently only have four months in the job. Being a skilled visa, for which you must have "an occupation that is on the relevant skilled occupation list", what counts as "having an occupation"? How long must I have been in the job to apply? I know I can only get points once I have been in the job for at least three years but can I apply before then? I don't want to pay money for a skills assessment etc. and find I can't apply for two years, then find my skills assessment has expired. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Kris
