  3. Hi lindsay nice to hear from you, I don't arrange social gatherings, but my husband and myself have met some really nice people, just by arranging to meet up for a coffee. So it's really a case of meeting a couple chatting and then just see how it goes, if you want to meet up again then you arrange something. If you don't really hit it off then you haven't lost anything. Kingsley is about fifteen mins from clarkson we have only lived here two months, we where in Kinross before that. If you want to meet up let me know, we are free in the evenings or at weekends. We are both in our forties! But far from over the hill. LLoll look forward to hearing from you. jenny
  4. You are actually only about ten mins away if that. jenny
  5. Hi amanda Thanks for your reply, the poms meets sound good, can you give us some more info. Good luck with the move, stay in touch and hopefully meet up, it's nice to know others are in the same boat. jenny
  6. Hi alan that sounds great would love to meet for coffee, free at weekends or in the evening, jenny
  7. Hi nicola thanks for your message, I think you are quite away from us, but it would be good to stay in touch and maybe meet up on a weekend once you are settled in. We will look on the map and see exactly how far secret harbour is. Keep us up to date on how things are going and good luck with your move. jenny
  8. Hi guys cant quite believe I'm doing this after being in Perth for 16 months. My husband and myself have found it really hard to make friends, we don't have kids in school and are sure that's made things harder. Most friends are made through school and all ours are in the uk! So then new friends are usually made through your children, or your work place. Last night New Year's Eve bought it home to us. It would have been great to have a few good friends round for some drinks and a splash in the pool. We have met a few people and they have turned out to be good friends, but it would be great to meet some more. Ed is a motor mechanic and I'm a pharmacy assistant we are both in our early forties, so if you fancy meeting up just message me, we live north of the river in Kingsley. Look forward to hearing from you.
  9. Hi fas believe me you are not the only couple in this situation. Myself and my husband arrived in Perth in sept 2011 we both started work within three weeks of being here, so where very lucky. We have permanent residency and absolutely love it here. We don't have children here, come to that we don't have any family here, they are all in England. I get quite home sick some times, but just think of the reasons why we came in the first place. We have found it very hard to meet people. I think it's because we don't have children at school. We do have some lovely friends but not that many. I miss my girlie chats and just popping to friends for cuppa. We love to go out for coffee and meals. My husband ed is a motor mechanic he is from dart ford he is 43yrs old. I'm Jenny and I'm from Eastbourne East Sussex, im 45yrs old and a pharmacy assistant. We live north of the river in Kingsley, if you fancy all meeting up just message back, look forward to hearing from you. jenny
  10. Hi kirsty my husband and myself moved to Perth in 2011, we lived in Kinross for twelve months, it's five mins drive from currambine. We have friends who live in currambine, it's lovely. Kinross is a really nice area Connolly and ocean reef are also very nice. We have just moved to Kingsley about ten mins from currambine. We don't have young children, but do know how hard it is to meet people and make friends, it's very hard when you first arrive and it's nice to have people to help. We are an outgoing couple ed is 43yrs old I'm Jenny, and I'm 45 only just lol. Ed is a motor mechanic and I'm a pharmacy assistant. We are from Eastbourne East Sussex. We are permanent residents and love it here. If you fancy staying in touch then get back to me, always willing to help if you need it. Would be nice to have some new friends. Good luck with the big move. jenny
