  4. Hi Jenny, Thanks so much for your message - really helpful. We hear that Currambine is nice and have seen some longer term rentals in Occean Reef, Connolly and Iluka. Keen to just get over there now and crack on with things! I'm 35 and my husband Dan is 39...we have three girls. Be lovely to keep in touch, I know that making some good friendships will be fairly important in making this thing work! My email is kirsty.hamer15@gmail.com Thanks again for getting in touch Kirsty

  10. Hi Sarah... I identify with everything you said! I feel quite numb and am quietly contemplating what we are actually doing. I'm hoping our move will have ripple effects on the rest of our family and they may experience something they never would if we didn't go for it. My husband has just been made redundant too, had that pit of stomach sick feeling, then thought well, thats one less thing to do! The path is being paved. I don't believe you'll look back but if you do, home will always be there. Best of luck to you... x
  11. Well, your post t4top makes me wanna go yesterday!!! Sounds wonderful - good for you. For me this transition stage is the hardest...just waiting and ending things. I want to get started on new exciting things! Thanks everyone for mega encouraging posts.
  12. We have just told friends and family - spoken to our childrens school, booked that container, house on market (altho we will only be renting it) - all a bit EEEK!!! We too have looked at Clarkson/Bulter with a view to settling there. Initially will be staying in the Connolly area while we sort ourselves. I'm determine to shake off feelings of doubt and just go for it... This thread has been really encouraging so thanks all x
  13. Hi all, We would love to get to know others in the same boat as us as much as we can before heading out also in Jan 2013... we've got 3 girls aged 9, 6 and 5. Nervous excitement rules with me, my biggest concern being my husband getting a job. He's think he might skip out there ahead of us and get some things organised. I'm reassured by these threads and the possibility of making connections before we land...makes me feel hopeful of finding like-minded folk to socialise with over there. Be really up for keeping in touch. Hope plans go well here on in...best wishes Kirsty x
  14. Hi everyone - we too are about to book flights in Jan 2013... like you mixed emotions but overall really up for an adventure. We have 3 girls aged 9, 6 and 5 so for us it really is now or never! Would really love to be in touch with fellow migrants to help the transition and would really be up for getting togther on arrival. Initially we are heading to the Rockingham area although hope to settle in the Butler/Clarkson area. I'm Kirsty, my husband is Dan and our girls are Madeline, Olivia and Ruby. Feel reassured by some of the threads on here and am sure its going to be great! x
  15. We are a family of 5 from Bristol hoping to head out to Perth in Jan 2013... I too am getting really nervous as the time draws nearer! Excited too though. Like you Les, doing it for our kids mainly, want them to experience something different, for a while at least. I know that friends will make or break the experience and would love to know how you get on when you arrive... I am 35, my husband is 39 and our girls are 9, 6 and 5. Praying we are doing the right thing as we have a close family we would be leaving behind.
