I've heard nothing and I'm on 6 and a half months now. I was told 9 so that in itself isn't a surprise... If I had't found this forum I'd be none the wiser about the later applicants with the earlier grant. I have to hold on to that, I guess... Just a shame I've missed out on being considered for at least 2 ideal jobs dues to not being able to give a date for being in Australia.
Ya its bad alright looking back now I think I should of went on 457 sponsorship and then applied onshore ..I really hope there some granting done in the next few weeks .. what part of oz are you going too ?

Just out of interest, does potential new employment speed up the process?
hey chuckles Im afraid thats a no too .. I sent in a letter of offer from a job with an empolyer I used to work with in oz and he wanted me to come back and for him when I got back .. unfortunatly he would only keep the job open until end of december and I told them that .. I has no bearing on your application .. Sorry I hate breaking bad news ..
have you heard anything at all ? I hit 6 months exactly on friday ..

Sorry that was a bit ranty...I get quite homesick on Australia Day
Hi family can I ask who your CO is ??? I find it mad how some people are told there visa will be granted and some people are just told to wait for a decision there doesn't seem to be any consistency in the system ..
-
does anybody know of visa being refused an if they were going to refuse your visa would they still make you wait the processing time ? or if they found say a medical problem would it be refused at that point ? just curious if they would make you wait and then say no ..that would be pretty sick ..
-
Btw stupid question but how do you add the "signature" message under your post that shows everyone the progress of your visa app?
not at all you would be surprised how many people seem to ask that .. go to settings in the right hand corner . scroll down to edit signature ..ur done ..

How long have you been told for your visa?
6-8 months just thought there might be a few grants soon ..
-
doesn't seem to be much granting this month gggggggrrrrrrrrrr...

Wow! Thank you for such a fast response! Very glad to hear that! I am the aussie one of the two and I really don't want to leave him behind till the visa is sorted so I think I will have to wait here with him. I hate my boss so much, if it wasn't for this visa I would have quit since nov. I'm just hanging in there thinking we would have the visa till may...now I am so disappointed. I'm going to have to keep my cool tomorrow in the office
Hi It is a long wait and its worse if you have to separate. My wife is in australia and has been since October we are waiting 6 months exactly next week so hopefully it will be soon .I think everyone on here is in the same boat your OH could always go over on a holiday visa if finances allow .. or there is a sponsorship if one could be sorted ..

quick question .. when I last spoke to CO he said hes just waiting for finalization date ..does anyone know what the finalization process is ?
-
I guess I really need to get onto my case officer about this. Another who applied after me being granted theirs months before. Congratulations to you, of course.
hey chuckles just wondering if you contacted you CO and if they said anything to you ?

Initially I got a generic email saying 9 months processing from date of application, so April.
Well when I found this forum and saw some people that applied after me were getting theirs before me I phoned my CO (VF) and she said that I will almost definitely have to wait until April for mine.
I haven't mentioned my meds and police clearance in any post until now, but they were all done and dusted by late August/early September. Wouldn't make too much difference to the 9 months from date of application though, surely?
What I was told is that there are a certain number allowed in per a given time period and that things were done on a first come first served basis, the applications were all queued up and granted in order save for any extra-ordinary circumstances. With absolutely no disrespect intended here, yours and gastocats applications don't appear to be different to mine in that "extra-ordinary" way, and I am of course pleased for you that yours are coming through quickly. I just can't seem to understand why that can't be the same for mine. As it is, an early March grant would be about perfect anyway!
I understand what you mean I think its not transparent at all and have seen peoples granted well before other peoples ..I will keep u informed of any news i get from them I think atleast people have this forum so they can find out how everything is going .the other thing is I think they always give the longest but it isnt always the longest .. as I said I will let you know as soon as I hear anything else and hope it comes through quickly for you and everyone else on here ..

I don't wear them... Unless you mean flip-flops?
I'm very happy for you, congratulations! Just leaves me wondering what I should do about mine because I applied a few weeks before you but have been told to not expect mine until April.
Again, extremely happy for you! Congratulations! But again, you applied a few weeks after me and have been told end of Feb where I have to wait until April... Any idea what I can do? End of Feb/Start of March would be about perfect for me.[/color]
Hi mate did you recieve a generic email saying end of april and were you told 6/8 months on intial contact from DIAC.. because on my last correspondance I was told end of feb to end to mid april but it seems It will be closer to feb than april ..
You could do what I did and just contact your CO saying its nearing six months and you were looking on booking tickets soon would they be able to help you with any update could give you .. can I ask who your CO is ?the other thing I noticed is the meds and police clearance yours were sent in later and may have some bearing on the wait time ..and gastocat and I both had same CO dont know if this has any bearing but thats all I can think .. maybe someone else can shed some light on it ?

Yippee! Congrats, Glastocat!
I emailed Australia House before Xmas as I was booking flights to go out in Feb, and wondered what my chances were (I applied July 23rd). I spoke to KP and he said he didnt know but ring him back on Jan 10th. I just rang him, first off he said oh you're in the 6-8 month queue, so I reminded him he told me to contact him as I had booked flights. He looked at my file, said, Oh you're travelling with your family arent you (who are citizens) let me speak to my supervisor!. The he came back and said yes, they will grant me Class 100 on Feb 1st!!!!
ahhh congrats on you visa .. I have applied exactly a week after you I think I will email KP and see if he has any update on application just want to get out and see wife now 6 months is long enough ... congrats again

Hi LOU can you tell me when you applied please ?and is it for 309 /100?

Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven't really posted much on here, have been more of a lurker while I haven't actually had anything to report about my application! However, I thought I may be able to offer some hope for July applicants. My husband and I applied for his and my 1 year old son's visas on 9th July (I have Australian citizenship) and they were granted on 20th December! Lovely Christmas present!
I'm not sure why they were granted so soon, we had originally been told around a 6 month wait, then it increased to 8-9 months, so we were expecting February. My husband then phoned our CO in early December who told us to call him in January and he would see about granting it, but then surprised us without warning at the end of December! It was also the subclass 100 - even better!
I really hope that this brings some hope to some of you, the only possible reason I can think that it was granted so soon is that the police check for my husband runs out on 14th June and that is the initial entry date we have been given with the visa. Obviously we intend to be there much earlier than that, but it means we have been given just under 6 months to validate. Maybe that's why it was granted sooner than expected?
I apologise if this upsets anyone that has applied at an earlier date than we did and still have not been granted, but I suppose every case is unique and case officers will work through their own caseloads at their own pace?
Good luck to you all, I hope you all get your visas very soooooooooooon!!! ;-)
congrats on your visa grant ..could you please tell us who your CO was .. thanks

Hi Everyone,
Congratulations to those who've received been their visa grants.
I emailed KP , my CO, to obtain verification on my visa type. The good news is i'll be getting a class 100 visa .
The bad news is that he doesn't expect to grant it until March, as originally advised.
I applied in late july, so this looks like the end of the six month grant times and a definite move to the eight month time-frames.
My originally CO , JC also left in October , so i'm wondering if they are cutting staff and merging their case loads ?
I applied on the first of august and like you had JC but now have been changed to KP ..In my last contact with him he said mid feb to march so lets hold out and hope that it is in feb rather then march ..
