Hi We moved to Brighton East in October. It's a lovely area and full of families. Yes it's expensive but the location is ideal - near beaches and very commutable to the city. The beaches along Bayside are amazing. From St Kilda right down to Mornington. Spoiled for choice and very, very child friendly. You won't be stuck for things to do here. Plenty local shops and not far from Westfield Shopping centre which is massive. Public transport links are great too. Consider Hampton, Sandringham, Parkdale, Mentone too. All great areas with lovely beaches and near train stations. All in all, it's a great place to stay! Good luck
