  1. I was on a Bridging Visa A with 'nil' conditions for 2 years. The nil conditions provides a visa holder with unlimited permission to work when the Bridging Visa is in effect. Your Bridging visa has been approved but will not come into effect until your WHV expires. You will still be able to continue working. There are restrictions on travel outside of Australia- you need to apply for a BVB if you wish to do so.
  2. Yup, they will not accept it even if you have not lived or travelled there since obtaining it. You will need to apply for a new one.
  3. I received SS without sitting the IETSL. Your sister will need to apply to AITSL for a skills assessment. You might also benefit from contacting AITSL and assessing what further qualifications she needs, if any. Their turnaround for assessment is 12 weeks. I have been teaching in WA for the past 3 years after completing my studies over here. I did my first year in Perth and then chose to venture more remote. After 2 years remote I have my permancy with DET and love it so much that I'll stay on next year. Teaching, both high school and primary, are in demand in WA . By 2015 year 7 will no longer be primary school, but secondary and there will be a high demand for high school trained teachers in the public system (as most private have already changed year 7 to high school). Best of luck to your sister!
  4. You can apply for a Bridging Visa B which allows you to travel for up to 3 months. You can apply for this by going into immigration with the required documentation (search which form it is you need on the Immigration site) or by mail. I was on a BVA for 2 years and travelled out of the country 4 times in this time and had no issues getting the BVB granted- they do it there and then on the day. I always brought a print out of my flight tickets but they never asked me to see them. Best if luck!
  5. Not all of WA is considered regional. There are a list of postcodes on the immigration website that state what areas are considered regional.... Basically it's anywhere outside of Perth. Also you need to remember that the skills lists change constantly. I would be more inclined to go the family route and not go on a visa that states that you must work in a specific occupation, this way she could have it all sorted once she graduates and she can come straight over. Once she graduates and once she has received her parchment and transcripts she then must apply to AITSL for a skills assessment which takes 12 weeks. You cannot apply for an EOI until you have a skills assessment.
  6. You need to have 60 points to get an invitation and apply for both these visas. If you have 60 points without doing the IELTS the you do not need to do one. I got my points as follows Age: 30 points Skilled Employment within Australia: 10 points Education: 10 points State Sponsorship: 5 points (10 for subclass 489)
