  1. Hi, we put our EOI in over Christmas and got an invite on 6th Jan. Visa granted 24th April so it only took 4 months. Have you got a CO yet? Worth e-mailing them if you have got one. Good luck, hope you hear something soon
  2. Interview went really well and I found out this morning that I got the job!! :-)
  3. That's what we've read - Matthew Hill area is nicest part I think??
  4. Thanks for the advice. I hope they don't ask me who the secretary of health is! I've been looking at the hospital's annual report which has their mission and values in
  5. ah, thank you. Good luck if you do go for a move to Oz
  6. Thank you. Are you going to work in the UK for a bit before you go to Oz?
  7. By "challenging" do you mean social problems? From what I've read on the internet Sunshine is an area that is getting better. Rental prices are reasonable
  8. Thank you. Are you a midwife too? Where are you hoping to move to?
  9. Thanks for your reply. Are you a midwife from the UK? I have a PR visa already so don't need sponsorship. I'm not sure what guidelines Australian units use - do they follow NICE or another organisation? My last interview was over 4 years ago but I got asked about supervision, clinical governance, obstetric emergencies. Should I expect something similar? Thanks very much. Where do you work now?
  10. I have my first phone interview next week for a job as a midwife in Sunshine (near Melbourne). If anyone has any tips on what to read or what I might get asked i'd really appreciate it. I have no idea what I'll be asked. I've heard that nurse/midwife interviews are less than formal than here. Also, if anyone knows Sunshine hospital or works there i'd love to hear what you think about it. Thanks so much!
  11. Hi, is it worth us taking our car? It runs really well and just had MOT and nothing needed doing. 12. Thanks and good luck with your application! I don't know how to creat a signature either?? What do you do? I'm a midwife and my registration is taking longer to come through than the visa has!
  13. Has anyone else got a CO or a visa yet?? We got our CO on 18/03/13 but haven't heard anything yet?????
  14. We've got a case officer! So exciting. Have been asked to provide further proof of work experience but that is it so fingers crossed we won't be asked for anything else! I've already heard from AHPRA too which i'm quite surprised about, i thought it would be few more weeks yet from what i've heard
  15. Thanks a lot for the info. I didn't realise we might get asked for more information to prove our relationship!?! Do you have to send old anniversary cards or something? :-) I've just had a look at form 80, 18 pages! Good luck
  16. Our application status is currently "in progress". What happens when you get assigned a case officer? Do you get correspondence or something with their name? We keep checking everyday!! All but 2 of our documents say "received" now. 2 left that still say "required" so presume someone is checking them and once they are happy with them it will change to received.
  17. I went to the Mag court and was told it was £60 a document to certify so was definitely right. I've already had mine certified now (cost £57). If i need to get anymore certified i will ask if it should be free! The only thing i wasn't clear about on the application was whether to send my academic transcript as well as my degree certificate. I didn't get it certified so not sure if they will ask for that. Good luck with everything.
  18. Wow, you're lucky - JoP at Mag court in my town doesn't do it for free!!
  19. I've applied for my registration about 3 weeks ago. I would apply asap if i were you - the people i know who have got AHPRA registration have all had to wait between 4 and 6 months. Australia House in London was the cheapest place i could find to certify docs (£19 per doc). Magistrate Court was £60 per doc!! Good luck
