Hi there.
I'm an Aussie who left Australia for London when I was 33. I did not have private health cover up to that point. Whilst in London I did have private health cover. I'm now 41 and we have now just returned to Australia. I've been told that I have to pay 20% extra loading on any private health premiums. 2% for every year I have not had private cover. The Australian insurance companies will not recognise my 8 years of private medical coverage whilst in London. So I have to start from scratch.
Is this correct? Have others had the same experience when returning to Oz?
Thanks
Paul
