  2. Hi all! I have opened a westpac account and I am wanting to transfer monies using my online UK halifax bank account. I have gone on to the "pay a person" but it asks you for details such as sort code. Does anyone know what info need to put in instead, as obviously i dont have an aussie sort code? if I leave it blank will the money go through okay? I cant believe halifax charge you nearly ten quid for every transaction. Any help would be appreciated! Laura

  4. Hi Guys! I'm currently looking for a cheap and reliable firm for car rent of 1-2 months on arrival to perth and whilst applying for longer term car lease with my new employer. Please can any one advise any firms? I'm wanting manual. Cheers! Laura
  5. Hi there, My meeting with AHPRA (to complete nurse registration) has been arranged only ten days after my arrival to Australia. AHPRA have asked I bring along with me, "Evidence of identity's residential address in Australia (e.g bank statement, utility bill, lease agreement). If no permanent address available please provide a Western Australia statutory declaration form declaring the current residential address". My problem is up to the 6th of December I will be staying at a B&B and there after its possible I will either be staying at a house share or friends. Has any one used the Western Australia statutory declarations form for this issue and was it difficult?, where do I obtain this form? Any other advice would be appreciated. Thank you Laura
  6. Hi guys, did you buy you adapters etc and change accounts before arriving in Australia? I would like to be immediately able to use my iPad x
  7. Hi, I have a UK brought IPad. This might sound stupid but can someone tell me if I'll be able to use this when I move to perth and what adapters etc do I need? I need to make sure I have it for communication otherwise my family might not let me go!! cheers laura
  8. Hi there, I'm moving to perth 28th November 2013 and I've not had much luck yet finding a temporary accommodation (2-3months). I'm a staff nurse and will shortly be commencing work at a hospital in Nedlands, so ideally would like somewhere near there as I will be relying on public transport initially:unsure: I'm happy to house share and figure this will be the best place to meet people and make new friends. I'm stopping at a lovely b&b to start with and will be needing something from the 6th December. Hope you'll be able to help, laura x
  9. Hi there, Can any poms advise me whether they've had any problems with online banking whilst in aus using Halifax? Reassurance needed :err::smile: cheers, laura
  10. Hi guys, iv seen poms advise others to seek temp (holiday) accommodation before enquiring into rentals. Does anyone know of any that don't charge a complete arm and a leg? also iv heard nightmare stories it's extremely difficult to find rentals in perth, is this true? I have a job secured in Nedlands, aware this is an expensive area, I'm happy to live surrounding areas and drive to work. any advice would be much appreciated  Laura xX
  11. Hey people, I'm a psych nurse moving to perth (on my tod) this November. Feeling a little anxious now, would be great to get to know others moving around the same time  Laura xX
  12. Hi:biggrin: My agent (sponsor) has advised me to proceed with lodging my visa online with immi. I have been provided the TRN number but I keep being diverted back to the personal details/sponsorship page!? It asks; "please contact the departments processing office nominated in the sponsorship agreement"??? Does anyone know why this has happened? Is it because I have not been provided a 'business sponsorship agreement number' or/and 'nomination approval number' ?? (are these two the same things?):err: Cheers Laura x
  13. Hi guys would be very grateful for any advice on how to answer the following questions on form 80; Q4 did you use the passport/travel document at question 1 to enter Australia? no>write the number of the document you used to enter Australia (I have never been to Australia but have my current passport details in question 1) Q20 address in Australia where you can be contacted or will be staying note:a post office box or mailbox address is not accepted (Since I don't have an address yet, can I put my australian place of works address?) Q22 do you have personal contacts in Australia (including business contacts/sponsor?) not do not provide contact details of a migration agent (I am being sponsored for a 457 visa by a hospital and have an migration agent, I can't include migration agent details so do I put the hospitals address here?) Q38 are you applying for a temporary visa? yes>details of the proposed final departure from Australia , day, month, year (This would be in four years time, am I meant to guess?) Q39 what is the main reason for going to Australia? Include details of any dates that are of special significance to your time in Australia (how in depth does this need to be) Q45 have you travelled to any other countries OTHER THAN AUSTRALIA, including any visits back to your country of citizenship during the past 10years (including short stays) (I can roughly remember the places iv gone on holiday and how long for in the past 10years but have no idea of majority of dates!, surely this is a problem for most people completing the form?) thanks a lot laura x
  14. Hi guys, im a nurse and will be needing a physical and possible x-ray from an outside Australia immigration panel physician. I am almost organised with 457 application except this medical. Iv had conflicting information and its left me confused. please can anyone tell me if you the applicant arranged this booking yourself or do you lodge your visa 457 first then wait for immigration to advise you? would be grateful for any advice cheers Laura x
  15. hi can anyone tell me which program i need to download so that my scanned items can be sent. Iv used word and pictures but when iv tried emailing a document to private health care it won't load and I'm worried this might happen when I come to lodge my whole application. Thanks, laura
  16. Really, not even your passports were certified? Was anything? This form iv got is saying to certify evidence by notary sick of ringing the notary guy, sure he's fed up of me now. cheers guys!
  17. Hey Jess and Labourvellec I'm sorry if this sounds obvious but did you print the forms for the visa (e.g. form 80) then scan the items or did you complete the forms online before lodging them? my computer is saying it wont save online forms that iv put text in (if that makes sense). I'm a little stressed and confused. Thanks a lot Laura xx
  18. Hey Jess! Thanks for the reply, hope you hear from them soon and its all good news! I don't have my AHPRA registration yet, only the eligibility letter which is valid till December this year, my employer knows this. I didn't want to fly out too early to finalise it then fly back (to the uk) to go back out again. Did you send a certificate? I got in touch with my HR/Sponsor person and challenged them on the tick list (because it highlights AHPRA nurse registration certificate) she didn't really give me a straight forward answer and said that I just need to scan the item AHPRA sent me via email (this was just the eligibility letter). I'm a little confused, did you just send the letter? I don't want to sound like a mad woman (lol) I just know how strict ahpra were for doc's and just want this to be right first time Was your nurse qualification certified? Iv heard some say they didn't need it. I am travelling alone (eeek!!) to perth, what about yourself?, which field do you work? i'm mental health Cheers Jess, Laura xx

  20. Hi mini, along with certified copies of any certificates I could get hold of, including print out of trusts training log, I formatted (on Microsoft word) tables and for each year i specified (listed) each subject/training attended the date and hours the training was. My manager deputy manager clinical team leader and myself signed this. AHPRA accepted same.
  21. Hi, my letters from both secondary and uni simply stated "I can confirm that (full name) was taught and assessed in the English language". Letters were on organisation letterhead and signed by the schools admin and certified by notary public. My notary didn't charge me extra for this. It's better to be safe than sorry. Mine was accepted
