  1. We are getting married at the Sunken garden at the University of Western Australia Our wedding reception is at the Duxton... both right close to the city and easily accessable for all our guests! Id reccomend using easy weddings, its brill to find things etc!
  2. I hear you. But we dont have a car and cost isnt really too much of an issue.. id rather fly and get there quicker!
  3. Hi Everyone, Me and my partner are moving from Melbourne back to Perth, we dont really have that much stuff, probably a good few boxes and a couple of suitcases (we dont have our own furniture) Wondering if anybody can recommend any good removalists to use.. we arent going for another 7 weeks or so What were your experiences? Any one to avoid?
  4. Ahhh fantastic.. So you didn't have to wait the 2 years in the end? Do we still need to submit all our evidence again? We have still been collecting joint things like bills/ lease agreements still just incase. Thanks for your reply
  5. Hey all.. I was wondering if anyone can help me. Im originally from the uk, I lodged my partner visa (subclass 820) in November 2012 and it was granted in April 2013 in the melbourne office. I know I need to wait 2 years before its reviewed again, but what happens will I be sent forms from DIAC before November 2014... Then how long will it actually take for them to grant me permanent residency? We are planning on starting a family around march next year but I want to make sure I have PR when the baby is born. Forza xx
  6. I lived in perth for 6 months. I love: the weather, the beaches, more family friendly, great bus/train links to and from the city. Much cleaner/brighter place and very modern. I have lived in Melbourne for a year. I don't like it as much. I enjoy eating out as its cheaper, the rent is cheaper here than in perth, I don't like the idea of bringing a family up here, as I love going for walks and melbourne is alot more built up than perth. The suburbs here I find and general look is alot more duller. It's more of an older city. The tram/train links are brilliant. The weather here isn't as nice as perth. We are moving back to perth in November. I can't wait to move back there. It's much more relaxed in my opinion and less busy. There is alot of arts/culture here too. It all depends on what you like
  7. So happy that after 5 months my 820 (onshore partner visa) has been approved. I couldn't be more happier!! Good luck to those applying still in shock!!! forza xxx
  8. Clarkson is a hole..... Why move to Australia if the cost of living is higher than the UK in the first place.

    Defacto!

You have to be living together for 12 months before u apply. So collect everything all leases in each others names etc joint bank accounts as much as u..
  10. I live in Brunswick and have to agree is more for young proffessionals. I myself live in an apartment, lots of hip cafes ans shops around here. Nice area but dont know what it would be like for a family.
  11. I was in a similar situation to yourself. The best thing i can suggest is doing your farm work, and then live together for an extra year. Its a MUST that u have to LIVE together, not be together for 12 months before u can apply. If u dont meet this, then dont waste your money and apply cause it will be refused. You need to prove more than just going out, provide as much evidence as u can. We submitted joint bank accounts (again a big thing they look at)., joint gym memberships, trips/holidays out together, evidence we share things ie groceries (we put like 30 bucks a week into our joint account). Stat decs are great to use, but the DIAC will look at your co-habitation over anything else. As for registering your r.ship, just ring up and make sure.....because i was in melbourne and to register a r.ship u BOTH have to have resided in melbourne for at least 12 months before u can even apply. It might be diff for NSW or QLD, but u cannot register a r.ship in WA. I would deffo apply in Oz and do farm work, could be risky coming back on a tourist visa unless u have proof u are going to travel and DIAC may question your reasons for coming back to Oz, after being here for a year... or just both go home and apply from the UK if this suits. I had the help of an agent and he said u have to prove u are more than just boyfriend and girlfriend. Hope this helps. Feel free to inbox me
  12. How long does it take to obtain one of these? Ive got 28 days to get mine to DIAC, my mum posted it off this morning and opted for standard service with next day delivery. Im hoping it will get to oz in time? thoughts x
  13. Hi all, About 6/7 (Late Nov 2012) weeks ago i applied for my spouse visa in Melbourne, we submitted all the forms along with AFP check and Meds. Migration agent just got in contact with me and said that immigration have requested my UK Police Clearance certificate. What does this mean? Have we been assigned a CO? Is this the first step they do in granting it? Im so confused. So any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks x
  14. Hi All, What are the chances of being granted a Student Visa after my WHV. I wanted to study a Certificate 3 at TAFE, in childcare, and i am currently in Australia. What are the chances of me being granted this visa before my WHV expires on 01 Dec 2012? Thanks xx
  15. Hey. I am having the same problem. I from the UK and my boyfriend is an aussie citizen, we met back in January. I am on a WHV which runs out very soon, were going to do de facto and apply from here in oz, but seems to be alot of trouble. Now i am looking at applying for a tourist visa but i have no funds and i arent planning to travel. Why was he refused a tourist visa in the UK? Seems i am very worried about this happening too. The other one is prospective marriage, but we both dont want to go back to the UK for 6 months.
  16. Nah i havent done any regional work, and we dont want to submit a 6 month relationship ukchris, for the reason you stated. Which is why i am looking at tourist visas. Going back to the UK isnt an option.
  17. Hi all, I am new to this site My story is a little complex. I came to Perth, Dec 2011 on a WHV from the UK. I Started a de facto r.ship in April 2012, with current partner who is an aussie citizen. We moved to Melbourne at the end of May 2012 with his job. Whilst over here i sought the advice of a migration agent, who told us we could waiver the 12 month de facto rule to 6 months. So since April we have been collecting evidence of our r.ship, but have had a few problems along the way. We were told by the MA to register our r.ship in VIC on 8th Oct. However, the other day i phoned up to enquire about what we needed to take and the lady told me, you cannot register your r.ship unless both of u can prove u have been living in VIC for 12 months.. Which is a nightmare and my MA was not aware of this... now i am fretting as my WHV expires on 01/12/12. What are the chances of me being granted a 6 month tourist visa and not working? So i can stay here until April, when we meet the 12 month requirement. Has anyone else been in this situation or similar? And does that waiver of the registering r.ship thing even work... Any success stories? Thanks everyone, just getting a little worried. Forza x
