1. Hey boganbear, if your in/near Brisbane there is a shop near the Logan hyperdome called Syds pies which have loads of English products including black pudding, bacon, sausage haggis etc. - it's a little bit pricey but great for a treat!
2. We have reduced the price of the house 4 times, it's ow at the lowest we can possibly go. Unfortunately we have chose the wrong time to sell as there has recently been 6 complete new hosing estates opened up within close proximity to our house. We are expecting an increase in the local population shortly as the local industry is expanding rapidly. We are off to see a financial adviser soon to see what our options are.
3. I don't know if this has been covered at all but here goes. We have had our house on the market for 6 months now with not so much as a nibble! We would like to be back in the uk for family reasons ASAP. Has anyone rented out their Australian house whilst living and working in the uk? I was wondering how we would stand with regards to tax in Australia? Cheers
4. Hi i was also a dental nurse when we moved to Adelaide. We landed on the Saturday, and by the Monday I had a full time job. I don't think she will have an issue finding work. Hope thing work out for you both.
5. I have not flown with them yet, but I did book fights to back in 6 weeks time, they took the money out twice for 4 flights! I only found out when I tried to use my card and it got declined due to insufficient funds. 4 hours of calls between them and my bank and got one lot returned. I'm not feeling confident that we will have good flights, but they were cheap!
6. Thanks for the responses, I will have a fair bit of reading to do! We are already citizens, we done this before deciding to move back to the uk. We don't have any jobs to go back to, or a house. We will be moving in with my in- laws, and looking for work once we arrive. My husband thinks we will be back in Australia within 3 years.???? Only time will tell!
7.

Hey, didn't want to post this on you post about going home, im going home to. Are you on facebook? I can put you in touch with friends who have gone back for loads of advice and no oz lovers jumping in, tried to pm you but can't

8. We have now been in Australia for 8 years, and I have wanted to go back to the uk since having my first child 4 years ago. We have since had a second child. We had a visit from my in laws in August last year and after dropping them off at the airport my husband asked if I would like to go home, of course I said yes, so that was it decision made . We have spent since August preparing the house for sale and welcoming our second child. we both have relatively good jobs, and live in a beautiful part of the world but it has never truly felt like we have fit in. We are now playing the waiting game waiting for the house to sell. Some people think we are mad giving up the life and lifestyle here but we need to go home now for family reasons, and to let the kids spend time with their grandparents before its too late. One of my questions is how do reinstate yourself in the uk? With regard to national insurance and the tax office etc, and how do I register my children with regards to the nhs in the uk? Thanks
