I think Cronulla is still ok with traffic compared to north Sydney and parts of the east. Sydney is busy where ever you live in all fairness. We were looking at buying a place in Camden but the traffic completely put me off. Caringbah is great, you have a pub, some shops and restaurants and you are 5 minutes from the beach. Cronulla is great. We lived there when we first arrived but driving to the city is painful but the train is so easy. Good pubs, good people and we loved it. We are now in caringbah almost 3 years later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi guys We now finally have out visa which is fantastic news and think we have found a house to rent. However we have been asked to pay the 3 months upfront which is making me slightly nervous. Is this normal?

Hi Guys My wife told me that as soon as the 457 visa is granted, you get 6 weeks to move and start your job. Is this the case? Cheers

I was told that you cannot see the health results until you have been allocated a CO and they have reviewed them. I was told today that my lads had been approved but on my IMMI health account it's still showing submitted

I woke up today with some good news, we now have a case officer and my sons medical information has been cleared. They have requested some further information from the company as they needed to complete a new business application at the same time, I am hopeful though that there is light at the end of the tunnel

That's fantastic, we complete my sons medical 6 weeks ago and have not heard anything yet. I spoke to the medical centre we used and they said that all they can see is that the details were sent and received but nothing else??!! Good luck with everything

Ours has been submitted for 4 weeks now and we were originally told 4 - 8 weeks so fingers crossed we don't have too much longer to wait. When was yours submitted?

When I spoke to our solicitor they said that there was no point us really checking yet until we get a CO because they will not be visible so to be honest I have not logged on to our IMMI account.

The medical stuff was submitted on the 30th Nov and I thought we would know by now

We sent all of the paperwork early November but the company I am working for needed to reapply to become a sponsor so everything was sorted on the 19th Dec

Hi We are moving (hopefully) to Sydney for the new adventure. Originally I was going to the Gold Coast but the other job came up and it's in the head office so a much better opportunity. I must admit the Gold Coast looks fantastic and some of the properties are fantastic for 800 dollars a week. You will love it

Hi We are in almost exactly the same situation as you as my son needed to have a medical as he was in hospital recently with SVT. We have had the all clear from great Ormond street and submitted everything on the 30th November. I chased this with our solicitor and they said once we are allocated a CO then the medical results will be visible to them and us. We were given a timescale of 4 - 8 weeks so are almost half way but the longer it goes on the more concerned I am getting. My provisional start date was yesterday but luckily the company are relaxed about it

Hi Guys, I think I should apologise for asking a fair few questions, but I dont think this will be my last. Does anyone know how long it lakes for a company to recieve approval as a business sponsor who has been in the past? The only reason I ask is because the company I hope to work for needs to do this before logging my 457

Luckily it's for the same company and my boss is being really supportive. The only thing we have sold so far is my motorbike and golf bag! It's tough not to think about leaving but I am constantly telling my family that there are no guarantees but we shall see
