We used the local public notary, hadn't even heard of such a person until we started doing all this , there is a list of UK ones if you check on the web. Weve got to go back next week to have more certified....wish we had never changed our names when we got married ! Would have saved a kings ransom .

Snifter, will take your advice and speak to a professional, I agree he may be well placed to obtain his own visa in the future I would just find it hard not to have him with us for an extended period of time if he has to apply for his own. Rickjoann , thanks for your post, he is in full time education. Nowt in life is ever straightforward, fingers crossed it will all work out. He is also joining the forum and going through the nurses thread posts to look at all the other helpful info on there.

Hi wilko7691, he is a GP and going to be working in Lawnton. Our kids are really excited about the move..... Im writing this with the central heating on and the kids stuck in the house. Trying not to be too excited until the flights are booked. :smile: Can't wait to see a blue sky though !

Hi everyone, I've been reading so many helpful posts on here since joining I am hoping someone will be able to give me some advice. We are in thmme process of moving over to Brisbane with my husband on a 457 visa. We have four kids 9,12,17&21. My question relates to our eldest, he is in his final year at uni training to be a nurse and will qualify in March 2013. He currently lives at home and wants to come over to Oz with us. Due to his age will he have to apply in his own right? Whilst we are all ok at there being a few months apart due to us having to come out in Jan I am worried that it could be longer if he has to apply in his own right. Please note as soon as he starts work he has every intention of getting his own place and I will happily cut the apron strings thanks for any help. Geraldine
