  1. Thanks so much for the bump. Have tried speaking to the one IT recruitment agency I found to no avail so will try again today as well as see what others I can find! Thank you. Just don't want to get hopes up for a move only to find hubby would have to travel into Sydney anyway!
  2. Hi, does anyone have any knowledge on what the job market is like in Wollongong within the IT project world? Living in Sydney but considering a move to Wollongong for a change in lifestyle. Thank you
  3. There is a company called excess baggage company, they do everything including 20ft containers.
  4. Has anyone else used excess shipping company for shipping a 20ft container to oz? Apparentely the container parks at your house and you pack yourself which suits us! Anyone have an an experience of using them?
  5. Am shipping stuff in a 20ft container, do you think it is ok to pack clothes, soft toys etc in those plastic Chinese bags?
  6. so far our best quote has been with them, look forward to hearing your experience
  7. Thanks everyone for the replies. Iron chef, my hubby will contact you re container quote, we have so far been given a quote of 3200 with us delivering stuff to croydon which isnt too far from us.
  8. Thank you!!! No definitely UK to OZ!!!!! We dont have that much stuff, but we do have a car and two 300kg engines!!! Will check out pickfords. Thank you!
  9. including costs people have been quoted and whether they were any good..
  10. As well as a car and a few household boxes we have 2 car engines to ship (approx 300kg each), anyone shipped an engine before and how did you do it? Weighing up the options of a container versus, roll on roll off for a car and sending the engine and household goods seperately.
  11. I have had a PM today from someone who used this (i found them on another thread) he said so far so good, they are waiting on delivery in perth in 10 days. He said they just measured out the space in the spare bedroom so that when it came to packing the box it took them less then an hour. We plan to do the same thing by marking out a place in the garage. I have emailed seven seas and they have sent me a detailed email about the process and costs. i am pretty sure we are going to take this option! It's priced well, you pack it yourself so you know what goes in and in what condition and it comes out the other side in the same box.
  12. After reading on here about movecube through sevenseas I think this is going to be our best option for shipping home to sydney as we have about 10 (if that) household boxes (books, clothes, toys etc) a tv, and 2 engines (300kg each) and some parts and tools of my husbands. We measured it out and it looks like the large movecube is the best at around £1200 excluding any taxes at customs.. does this sound like a reasonable cost for shipping door to door? Also has anyone else used a different company with the same idea (ie, they drop off the container, you fill it, they pick it up, ship it and drop it at your door). Many thanks for any feedback/experience in shipping a small (but heavy) amount of stuff.
