  1. You are right, I received rejection letters within 10 minutes of sending my CV! they are not reading it for sure!
  2. Thanks Faizalzone, very disappointing, the statistics you have on the drop of HR jobs... I hope I will manage to find something when I am there... @ Paul1Perth, thanks for the uplifting reply...
  3. Than Thanks Michele, I had no idea they provide online courses in legal topics! very interesting... I will most probably undertake a couple of courses, it is reasonably priced! 55$ per course! Best regards
  4. Hello Laura I assume these positions are located in Sydney... are there any similar positions open for hiring in WA? Thanks
  5. Hey Ali They do not... but I try to customize my cover letter with every application to address the specific requirements of the job... I sent those questions to one of the agents who got back to me with a rejection, but I have not received an answer yet... I hope she will get back to me soon Thanks anyway
  6. Hello Everyone; I have a couple of question hoping that someone can help... I am a HR Consultant with an experience of 10 years + a Masters degree... I obtained my PR back in July but started looking for a job recently, however, I keep on receiving the auto rejection email as soon as I send the application ( I do not think they are even looking into my resume!)... I am trying to find a job before I move to Perth and I mentioned in my cover letter that I can move there in 3-4 weeks upon signing an offer. 1- Am I wasting my time and should give up applying for jobs before I am in Perth? 2- Are there really opportunities for HR professionals with no local experience? I do not mind taking a few steps backward in my career, but would that help anyway?! 3- Would my chances be any better if I apply for jobs in other regions in WA? On a different note, what are the regulations and acts that I should familiarize myself with before I move to Perth? Are those regulations available somewhere online? Many thanks Alissar
  7. Are you asking coz of the unrest taking place in Syria? I moved to a neighboring country for a couple of months till things hopefully calm down in Syria... Luckily I work for a multinational company, so it was possible to continue working from our branch at another country...
  8. It is interesting how most comments focus on work-life balance, it seems like a serious problem in the US...
  9. Yup! I am from the Middle East and that is why both the US and Australia are great places to be and definitely better than where I am right now, specially with the unrest that is taking place in the levant region currently... it is almost a civil war... But as long as I can make the move and have enough saving to support a new beginning somewhere decent, I need to decide on a country that provides a better future from a career perspective and a social security perspective, I would prefer a low crime rate, a family friendly environment and a growing economy... I seriously prefer Australia, specially after all the comments on my post here, I just felt that the US is a great place for a single person, but for a family and a secure future, it seems Australia is a better choice... As for Iraq and Iran war, it is one example... there is much more going on in this region and other parts of the world  but that is ok! it is simply politics and we have to live with it... I honestly can not blame the US only for what is happening in the middle east, it is an underdeveloped region with very bad regimes ruling... if the middle east countries do not stand up for their rights and start working for the better, no one will help them... I have been to many countries in the Asia, Malaysia is a great example! they have come a long way in the last few decades and no one could stop them... It is our mentality here in the Middle East that should change not the super power of the world... although I would not mind a humanitarian super power  Anyway, thanks for your post, it was really helpful... it sort of told me what i wanted to hear
  10. Thanks Freckleface and Fiona
  11. Hello again An advice I got from a friend is to take as many copies of documents as I can... as it might be difficult to find somewhere to print out or photocopy documtent as needed and might be expensive as well... From your experience, what documents will I need to have with me? copies or original? Thanks
  12. Hello everyone I heard somewhere that I will need enough points to be able to rent in Perth, what is that supposed to mean? and how do I get these points? Thanks for the help
  13. Thanks all for your help TBH, after thoroughly reading all your answers, i just feel that my heart goes for Australia it feels like the right place to a have a family... but i guess it will all come down to finding a job, i hope i will be able to find a job in Perth... @ surfndirt: as much as i love beer, but wine is still my number one drink therefore i guess Australia is the right choice for me unless i will move to california... right

  15. Hey Perthbum, thanks for replying. I can see what you like about the US  but what is that you do not like about Australia? It seems you are in Perth, so I am really interested to know from someone who is there already
  16. Thanks everyone... From your replies I can tell that if a person is able to find a good job with a proper income, then Australia is a better place to be for all that it offers from a work-life balance, social security and health coverage perspective. Otherwise, I should go for USA as i will be able to do more with less :daydreaming: I guess I should look for jobs intensively in both countries, even before i get there... hoping that i would have something to make this decision easier...
  17. thanks Jove! i have just checked prices of houses in the US, i was shocked, it is really cheaper! much cheaper! and the tax part is interesting, i wonder if anyone has some confirmed information about this, i heard that in the US you have an income tax for on-shore and off-shore income! while you only pay for on-shore income in Australia.
  18. <p><p>Yes, i am from syria. It is a high risk county, but apparently there are high high risk countries and low high risk countries. From my observation on this site and other forums related to australia immigration i have found that india is a low high risk country while pakistan is a high high risk country. So all depends on the country you r originally from. I will send you a link tomorrow where u can check the processing time for ppl from your country. Regards, Alissar</p></p>

  19. I agree with you, although Australia welcomes as many immigrant as the US, but Australia is more selective with the caliber of immigrants therefore the culture is different and more family friendly.
  20. Hello All :em3600: I have received the 176 visa grant (WA SS) a couple of days back, and will receive the American Green Card by the end of this year. I am from the Middle East and cannot decide on where to live, both countries are great and both are more like a dream coming true!! I have a lot of relatives and friends in the US (Atlanta, Seattle and New-york) while I know no one in Australia; therefore the US seems like a better choice, but my concern is finding a job. I know the unemployment rate in the US is much higher than that of Australia. I am a HR Manager at a multinational corporation. My husband is a Financial Controller at a multinational corporation as well. We both have a MBA and 9+ years of experience (and we are willing to compromise! not looking for fancy titles or similar positions ) Any advice?:unsure: Thanks
  21. Hey 3toOz I was assigned to team 6 best regards

  24. <p><p>Just thought of letting you know that I visit your profile page every day hoping that you have received the grant email <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/smile.png" alt=":)" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" /> it is tough that you have been waiting since April 20! and i personally hope that i will not wait that much! therefore, the sooner you receive the visa the more optimistic i am <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/smile.png" alt=":)" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" /> Good Luck</p></p>

  25. Hi this sounds a bit weird, but there high HR countries and low HR countries Pakistan for example is a high HR Country, therefore applicants undergo lengthy security checks after a CO is assigned, this takes around 9 months! India however, although it is a HR country, but applicants get the grant within a reasonable timeline, from my observation the timeline is between 15 days to 2 months maximum. I got a CO assigned in 12 days and got requested to upload my the PCC and MED on the very same day... although i come from a HR country too... this website might help you understand the timeline per country per visa type, you can filter the results through the search fields on the top of the page... it was very helpful to me... http://beupdate.co.uk/visaco.php best regards
