  1. Hi Michael Is there any positions still available at the lodge? I am an Aircraft engineer by trade but currently looking into doing some work in Australia and getting into the wilderness a little more. I'm from South Wales in the Uk, worked on farms as a young lad and have a keen interest in fishing (course and sea fishing), can't say I'm an experienced office worker and book keeper mind but I'm certainly willing to get my hands dirty. if you have something and want to know more about myself get in touch. cheers Adam
  2. Hi I am an aircraft fitter (unlicensed) with 6 years experience carrying out heavy maintenance on wide bodied commercial aircraft, i am hoping to emmigrate to australia, due to lack of finances and never visited the country i do not want PR visa. I want to travel on a WHV for 2 years (tops....obviously) and in that time hope to find a company willing to sponser me to stay. Can anybody please tell me if I can travel to Australia on a WHV and carry out my trade? Do I need skill recognition? Also any links to aviation (commercial) contract agencies would be great, I have many already but please send them over just in case. If there is anybody here who can send me contact info for potential employment within the aviation industry that would be great. Any tips on this situation would be helpfull. Regards gorvsy
  3. @billy- same situation, but less experience. Good luck in Australia, keep me posted on positions lol @ ringo- haven't yet done my trade rec as I wasn't sure if I had to have it on WHV because I've heard rumours of contractors working out the without it. Not sure really tbh, any further help would be great. Cheers

  7. Hi When registering with an Australian job agency is it wise to answer 'yes' to the Q.are you seeking employer sponser for skilled migration to Australia? Or would it be best to say no?? help please...thanks.
  8. You can have a b1 licence, this is for certifying engineers. I'm a fitter with no licence but relevant aviation qualifications.
  9. With regards to trade recognition etc

  13. I would definatly prefer not to go without job security but im getting nowhere, also getting the "see us when you land"feedback. I have no children just a girlfriend so taking that "leap" is easier for me I know.
  14. Hi Andrew I am an aircraft mechanic and have 6 yrs experience, I carry out maintenance of Boeing 747-400 aircraft, I have structeral repair, hydraulic and pneumatic system knowledge. Do you think I would be considered for this kind of role with yourselves only with aircraft maintenance experience? Thanks Adam.
  15. Hi jeff I have been trying to get a job for about 6months now in oz,I work as a mechanical fitter on commercial aircraft. Even tho there are hundreds of jobs available in my line of work it's so hard to get one before I head out. I have been told to do your homework on what's available for you out there, sign up to the agencies then take a leap (scary I know) and get out there. There are plenty of jobs in maintenance, maybe not your current trade but something to tic you over until you find what your looking for.
  16. Hi I am an aircraft mechanic on civilian aircraft, i have noticed whilst applying for jobs that's the jobs titles are labeled different. Where I work we are split between 'airframe' and 'avionics' Australia it is 'aircraft enginnering, structeral, mechanical and avionics' something like that anyway. Loads of work in Australia, anywhere will snap you up when you have that licence. I hope this helps somehow Regards

    Advice

This option is more than likely the one we shall choose due to costs of other visas, I am worried about not finding a sponser when I'm out there. Cheers

    Advice

Thanks Tony New to this lol only just signed up,what a great site, think I will be looking at this all night now. Im 24 yrs old and have been working as an aircraft mechanic for a major airline for 6 yrs, have british recognised qualifications. i have wanted to move to Australia for some time now, the east coast appeals more to me as there is a lot of aviation around and would benefit my search for work, I considered Perth but thinks its a bit out of the way lol I have a girlfriend(not married) who is willing to move also, no children. She currently works for a photography company. Would like to be out there ASAP but depending on what route we go down depends on how much it will cost then that really says when we can go. Thanks, Adam.
