    Spouse plan

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could give me some comment whether this is viable plan.. I'm planning to arrive in Australia with my spouse in late December this year. She doesn't have a degree nor 462 visa is an option ( language requirement ). We're thinking of flying her in on an eVisitor visa and then enrolling her into some language school until July next year so she can learn English and be able to legally work. The plan is to apply for 820 visa when we have 1yr of a de facto relationship in July next year. The biggest hardship I can see is proving the 6 months of a relationship in Poland. Does anyone see other potential pitfalls in this plan?

Well, I left Australia 3 months ago while still on 457 and have been granted 189 when offshore. The fact that 189 would become active once I land in Australia means that by all means I need to make sure that 457 is still valid until that time. As far as I understand I'm still on 457 until I arrive? Yeah, looks like visitor visa for her would be an option..

I lived in Australia for 3years on 457 and need to return in December if I want to pursue my citizenship ( can't be outside of Australia for more than 1yr during 4yr period ) ...

Thanks for your reply Ozmaniac ( and snifter as well :-) ). Unfortunately the country I'm originally from has a quota of 200 visas per year and it's already met. Do you think that going on tourist visa would be an option here? And then we could apply for a 462 for her when a new migration year begins..

Hi everyone, I just wanted to ask for someone's advice on following. I have just received a PR grant when being overseas. In the meantime I've met a girl and we would like to return to Australia together. The thing is that it's a short relationship so there's no way we could apply for a de facto visa. Has anyone been in such a situation? We thought about 462 visa for her.. does anyone know the timelines? Thanks
  6. I've already read that 1 year as a PR ( towards citizenship ) starts counting since arrival to Australia ( when granted offshore ). I'm on an unpaid leave and it's already 3 months since I left the country.
  7. Well, the thing is that it says "In effect" which would mean that it's started. In concern to what you've just said, can I trust it that my visa is actually activated?
  8. Hi guys, I have just been granted a 189 visa while still having 457 and being offshore. Vevo says that it's status is in effect, however I've heard that I need to enter Australia in order to have 457 deactivated in favour of 189. Can anyone shed some light on this please? I'm asking as I'm aiming to apply for a citizenship and don't know whether 1 year as a PR starts counting from now... Thanks
  9. Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on a following : Yesterday, I've received my invitation for a 189 visa. Submitted my application today and front-loaded all required docs ( incl. police certs etc. ). I had also done my medicals before lodging the visa. It is decision ready. Couple of weeks ago I have spoken to an immigration agent and she said that sometimes when an immigration year comes to an end ( end of June ), immi might pop grants very quickly to meet the quota for a given profession. Has anyone ever heard of or experienced such? Do you think that it is realistic to think that I could receive a grant within a week from an application submission? Thanks!
  10. Hello, I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on a following situation.. I am currently on a 457 and going to submit my EOI for a 189 visa by the end of May. I'm hoping to get an invitation pretty soon ( after looking at the skillselect invitation reports ~ 2/3 weeks ) and I will need to leave Australia for a couple of months by the end of June. Does anyone see any potential issues with that? Considering that I apply onshore but I also hold a 457, I assume that it's not going to be replaced by a bridging A visa ( which wouldn't allow me to leave ). Is this correct? Thanks!
  11. Hi, Thanks for your reply. So it would have to be Octobter 8 to make it 4?
  12. Hi guys, Do you know whether having your position stated as a Junior Software Engineer might result in employment being assessed as irrelevant by the ACS? Thanks!
  13. Hi, I'd like to ask about clarification on how does ACS count moths of employment. If employment started on say July 7th and ended on October 7th, would only August and September be taken into account ( as these are "full months" when being emplyed ) or would it rather be 4 months? Thanks
  14. Hi guys, Does anyone know whether DIAC is likely to require payslips/ proofs of getting paid only for a Skilled Employment ( the one you claim points for ) or also for 2 yrs ( in my case ) of employment before the "“Skill Level Requirement Met Date” ? This is for 189 Visa. Thanks
