  1. Hi we used Doree Bonner to move from Cardiff to Australia and based on our experience would highly recommend them. We had our goods packed and stored by DB in March 2013. Our goods were shipped later in 2014 (at our request), arriving in Brisbane in October 2014. DB use a company called Grace for the AUS leg and we have had a positive experience with them too. Grace stored our goods in AUS (as our house completion was delayed) and then delivered them on 31.12.14. All our goods arrived undamaged. We found DB to be highly professional and attentive to our requirements and the staff were all friendly and very helpful. The Grace staff were all helpful and professional too. The whole experience has been positive.
  2. Hi I was wondering if anyone has applied for a 189 from a 457 visa? I had a full medical with bloods and chest X-Ray for my 457 in January 2013. DIAC help line told me I could use my 457 medical, providing it is within a 12 month time frame, my case officer has told me I need to get another medical done. The reason given was that because I had my medical done in the UK, she cannot get the temporary clearance changed to permanent :arghh: has anyone else experienced this? I've spoken to the hospital who did my medical who advised that they enter the medical information straight on to DIAC software so they definitely have the information. It's so frustrating and driving me crazy!
  3. hi! has anyone applied for a skills assessment using the new on-line application? I'm a bit unsure as to what the new process is. The website suggests that documents can be submitted electronically, but the application guidance notes are the same as for the previous system which was printing off your form and sending by post. The reason I ask is that I need to get some documents certified and don't want to have to go back again to get my application and photo certified! I've part completed the application form with my personal details but then it asks for payment! so not doing that until I know what I need to be doing!!! I have tried phoning the office but it just rings 3-4 times then cuts off I've emailed them but could be up to 10 working days for a reply and I'm keen to get my application lodged especially with the long processing time!
  4. Never too soon to phone! lets them know you are still there waiting....!
  5. My uni transcript listed the hours I undertook for each branch placement/module. It may be worth going back to your uni and making it clear exactly what you need them to provide, especially if you have had to pay for it! Try giving them a time frame.. it worked for me!
  6. The notary that signed my docs, stamped and signed all the main documents and if there were several pages for example the uni transcript then the front copy was signed and stamped and the other pages (of the same document) were just initialled.
  7. Phone NMC and ask them for the tracking reference for the statement of good standing (they sent them signature on delivery). I asked for mine and the sent me the details. You will then be able to see if AHPRA received it. If they did then I'm sure they will be able to 'find' it!
  8. WOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO! :jiggy:I've just received confirmation of my eligibility for registration! Just need to go to local AHPRA office to prove identity and for CRB clearance, but got a year to do that! Can finally apply for the jobs I've seen! I have to say that I have no complaints about the way AHPRA have dealt with my application. I have found the communication and efficiency faultless! Well done AHPRA!
  9. Hi, my partner and I are looking at moving to Bunbury and are just after any advice about areas to live. Any advice on sought after areas and more importantly areas to avoid greatly received! I've read some posts about avoiding Carey (Scarey) Park but there seen to be so many areas we don't know where to start!
  10. Good luck! hope you don't have to wait too long!
  11. Hi Shelly, My application was received on 21.5.12, the transaction for payment was processed on 31.5.12 and the money taken on 1.6.12. Not all the money was taken though, just 380AUD which equates to the application fees. Still 160AUD to pay which I presume is the registration fee.
  12. I've had an email today from AHPRA to say my application is incomplete as waiting for NMC statement of good standing. Contacted NMC today who confirmed statement sent on 30.5.12 so all looking good! Emailed AHPRA to advise it was on the way and email acknowledged within a few minutes! very impressed so far! well done to AHPRA!
  13. Mine sat in the delivery office as well for about 5 days which like you say is a bit worrying! but it got there in the end!
  14. I'd just email them and ask for confirmation. It's better to find out sooner rather than later I say!
  15. It's good to hear people are getting their registrations without too much delay! Congrats and good luck to you all! I was just wondering when people sent their applications to APHRA did you send them standard air mail or tracked/signed for?
  16. Hi everyone! Though I would join this discussion as I have recently sent my application to APHRA. Given the other discussions I'm not expecting this to be easy or quick, especially since all registration renewals are due by end of May! I sent my application to Perth on 12.5.12 I've not heard anything yet but i know it was received on 21.5.12 as I sent it Airsure, so have been able to track where it was! I was kinda hoping to have things sorted by October so I could go once i finish my uni course, but I won't hold my breath! Fingers crossed for you all!
