  1. Hi everyone, I just moved from Italy to Australia and I would like to move my savings downunder. I know there is a pomsinoz partner and I will difinitely have a look at their service but I would also like to get a broader view before asking them as it is quite a considerable amount (at least for my finance). The bank to bank does not seem to be a good solution. Have anyone transferred money from euro to aus dollars recently? Did you benchmark the exchange rates and services offered on the market? I have never used this kind of service and I am quite concerned to put most of my saving in an account I do not know. Cheers
  2. Visa granted today, lodged on the 31 may 2012 acknowledgment letter 6 june 2012 Paramatta NOT DRC Low risk Good luck to everybody.
  3. Hi, I have one question. I lodged on the 31st May a 119 not DRC in Paramatta. I am tempted to pack my things and start moving to Australia but I do not know if this is risky for my visa approval. Does anyone know if they can reject my visa only because I am onshore when it is granted? If I get my visa approved when I am in Australia I have to leave the country (to any other abroad country and also for one day) and fly back in?
  4. I applied in Paramatta 119 Not DRC and have got the nomination approval on the 7th November. Since then no news.
  5. Hi sullyosullivan, I am low risk, not drc, 119 offshore and I lodged in Paramatta on the 31st May but still no news. I think a couple of other persons in this thread are in my situation. I hope they will overcome this backlog soon but seems many pending applications are still from May. Did anyone ever tried to call the Paramatta office center on its own to get an unpadte? I would like to ask for some update on my case but do not know which number to call. Did anyone
  6. Hi, and congratulations. There is something I cannot understand. When I call the European contact center and ask if I have a CO allocated they always tell me that this kind of visa (119) does not have a single CO but a number of them rotate for the approval process. And that several COs have already worked at my application. I lodged on the 31 May not DRC, Paramatta, low risk country. Got my nomination approval on the 7th November and no news from that date. I thought the nomination approval meant I was almost there but does not seem to be true as already two months have gone from it. Does anyone in a similar situation as mine has any news?
  7. Hi, I received the nomination approval on the 7th november but in the last 40 days no news. Is anyone in the same situation? Do you know when the immi office is going to be closed for the holidays?
  8. Hi Avvy, which immi center is it? Malbourne, perth or paramatta? Was it a 119? I lodged my 119 in paramatta on the 31st, non drc, low risk and I am still waiting. I know I have a co from beginning of november but no formal news.
  9. Hi everybody, I lodged my application end of May not drc and low risk. I was told by my employer that he received by the CO the approval for my professional position and that they are currently processing the permanent residence part. Does anyone know how long it will take to get also this part processed?
  10. Hi pollen, i have wife and two kids. i got an email from paramatta asking to get a new birth certificate for one of my kids, i thought they were working at my case. I was tlod from the london phone number that more than one co was adding remarks to my case therefore i was positive. I was also tlod that soon i should hear some news but i do not know if they are much into the timelines from the european contact center. I will keep u informed and please do the same
  11. Thanks Tarrat, I lodged my application on the 31st May and this date is also reported by the immi office in the ack letter I received on the 2nd June. Is it sufficient to have an estimated timeline? I thought I was almost there but every time I know something to get it postponed. Thanks again
  12. Hi, My application is a 119 RSMS not-DRC (no MA) in Paramatta and I received the acknowledgment letter on the 2nd June 2012. I am still waiting. I hope I will know something in the next couple of weeks. Does anyone know what is the difference (in terms of approval time) between DRC and not-DRC? I see that the DRC from 12 June were granted and I would like to understand if the not DRC will follow by weeks or months. Is there anyone else with my timeline? Which should be my waiting time expectation?
  13. Hi, I sent my application on 28th may, I got an email in August asking for the health exam, I sent the early September but did noy get any feedback so far. I have two question: - Which phone number do you ring? i am in Europe but here they do not tell you anything about the progress of your application. Do you call a local number on the Australian migration office? - what is this form80? I applied without any MA and I have never heard of it. I was never asked to provide it? Should I send it just in case...
  14. Hi BevCork, I applied in Paramatta and they forgot to attach the ehealth list, I wrote twice and after 2,5 months I received the ehealth list.I will do the health exams asap. I also had the wrong DOB for my daughter but in this case it was my mistake: I sent copies for birth certificate and the passport with the right DOB but in the ES47 form I wrote the wrong month and they took the dato of birth from the form rather than from the documents. I wrote twice to get in corrected since May but no answer. What did you do to get the DOB corrected? Cheers
  15. Hi Rx7, It seems I have a similar situation as you. I have presented the RSMS 119 application + Nomination lodged together just like you but at the Paramatta office for Canberra region. I've got the acknowledgment letter on the 2nd June but, as I posted before, in this letter I did not have the codes for the e-health exams. Usually the codes are in the acknowledgment letter but someone told me that maybe they wait for the nomination to be approved before giving you the go (and the codes) for the health check. How did it work out for you? I see you did your health check just the day after the the nomination approval. Did you get the code before or after the nomination approval? Was the nomination approval notified to you or to you eomployer? My timeline is the following: RSMS 119 Application + Nomination Lodged : 28th May 2012 in Paramatta Acknwoledgement : 02th June 2012 now waiting
  16. Hi Ginni, did you already do the health exam? I am not sure if I should wait or give them a call. Does anyone know which number to call for paramatta RSMS application. Cheers
  17. Hi everyone, I am not British but I have got loads of very useful info from this forum and I would just like to ask for some suggestions and share my situation. I lodged my paper (my employer did it for me and do not know why they did not go for the on-line one) application for a RSMS on the 28th May 2012 in Paramatta and got the acknowledgement letter on the 2nd June 2012. The acknowledgment letter stated to take a look at the attached documents (receipt, fact sheet, health examination list) but the health exam list was not attached to the email. I wrote them back twice to inform them the health list was not attached but always got the typical automatic reply (they are currently allocating application received on the 15 December 2012). I called the European phone number but they could not help me. I did a paper application and do not have a TRN but I would like to have the HRI and HAP ID to do my health examination in the meantime. According to what I read on this forum I should get my visa approved somewhere in November but does anyone have a suggestions for me about getting the codes for the health exam? Should I wait for the CO to contact me or should I try and contact directly someone else in Paramattato get these codes? Did anyone already make a contact straightforward with Paramatta and eventually to which phone number? Thanks in advance and good luck to everyone.
  18. Thanks for your reply. My children are not bilingual and that I am a bit converned about it. I may stay the first three months in Hughes in the house of a colleague of mine who will be moving back to Europe and the Intensive English course seems to be a very good option. Do you know when do this courses start and how long do they last? My children will be in Canberra in September and I am wondering if I can enroll them for that course. After these three months I will see if I want to stay in Hughes or move to another suburb: where would you like to leave with two children? Which are suitabke suburbs? About Yarralumla I heard they have bilingual course but I did not have brilliant feedbacks about it: I thimk it is personal and depending on your needs. Does anyone have other feedbacks about Yarralumla school. Cheers
  19. Hi, I will be moving to Canberra in September with my family from Italy. I am planning to have a week there in mid May just to have a look at the suburbs and the school for my children: 5 years the boy and 3 years the girl. I knew that mid May should be the right time of the year for enrolling but I have no clue about good schools down there. I am thinking to set in the inner south area somwhere like Hughes, Isaac, Griffith and Garran. Nevertheless I would evaluate also other suburbs. I would be grateful if someone could give me any suggestion about the good schools worth a visit In that are during my stay. I will be on a permanent visa (not sure if it makes any difference for the schooling) and I would like to assess both gov and catholic schools. Should I write to the principal to make an appointment. Cheers
